Abstract

A method for providing guidance to a user as to what images should be captured by the user as the user moves from location to location, comprising receiving a first captured digital image having pixel data captured of a scene at a first location, using a processor to analyze the pixel data of the first captured digital image and determining based on such analysis a second possible image capture location for the user, wherein the second possible image capture location is selected from a plurality of different possible locations, and transmitting guidance to the user over a communications network, the guidance including information concerning a next scene to be captured at the second location.

Claims (31)

1. A method for providing guidance to a user as to what images should be captured by the user as the user moves from location to location, comprising:

a) receiving from a user over a communications network, a first captured digital image having pixel data captured of a scene at a first location;

b) using a processor to analyze the pixel data of the first captured digital image and determining based on such analysis a second possible image capture location for the user, wherein the second possible image capture location is selected from a plurality of different possible locations;

c) transmitting guidance to the user over a communications network, the guidance including information concerning a next scene to be captured at the second location, to enable the user to capture one or more digital images at the second location;

d) receiving, from the user, a message rejecting the second location, and transmitting in response to the rejection message, guidance to the user, the guidance including information concerning an alternate second location; and

e) after receiving the one or more digital images captured at the alternate second location, transmitting guidance to the user, the guidance including information concerning a next scene to be captured at a third location.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further including producing a photo product which includes images captured at the first, second, and third locations.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the captured digital images are captured by a mobile imaging device and wherein guidance is transmitted to the mobile imaging device.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in element c, the guidance includes at least one image relating to the second location.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine how many people are depicted in the first digital image.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine the approximate age of at least one person depicted in the first digital image.

7. The method according to claim 1 , further including receiving ambient condition information, and selecting the second possible image capture location responsive to the ambient condition information.

8. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the ambient condition information includes weather information.

9. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the ambient condition information includes geolocation information.

10. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the ambient condition information includes time of day information.

11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine at least one landmark depicted in the first digital image.

12. A method for providing guidance to a user of a wireless capture device as to what images should be captured by the user using the wireless capture device as the user moves from location to location, comprising:

a) providing guidance to the user of the wireless capture device to enable the user to capture a first captured digital image having pixel data captured of a scene at a first location;

b) using a processor to analyze the pixel data of the first captured digital image and determining based on such analysis a second possible image capture location, wherein the second possible image capture location is selected from a plurality of different possible locations;

c) providing guidance to the user of the wireless capture device, including information concerning a next scene at the second location, to enable the user to capture one or more digital images at the second location; and

d) responsive to the user rejecting the second location, providing guidance to the user concerning an alternate second location.

13. The method according to claim 12 , further including providing a photo product which includes images captured at the first and second locations.

14. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the processor is located in the wireless capture device.

15. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the first captured digital image is transmitted from the wireless capture device to a server, and the processor is associated with the remote server.

16. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine how many people are depicted in the first digital image.

17. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine the approximate age of at least one person depicted in the first digital image.

18. The method according to claim 12 , further including receiving ambient condition information, and selecting the second possible image capture location responsive to the ambient condition information.

19. The method according to claim 18 , wherein the ambient condition information includes weather information.

20. The method according to claim 18 , wherein the ambient condition information includes geolocation information.

21. The method according to claim 18 , wherein the ambient condition information includes time of day information.

22. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the pixel data of the first digital image is analyzed to determine at least one landmark depicted in the first digital image.
