Abstract

A method for providing a photo product, comprising receiving, over a wireless communications network, a plurality of captured images from a wireless capture device taken at different locations along a route, evaluating one or more images taken at different locations according to predetermined criteria and if an image meets such criteria selecting such image so that a predetermined number of images has been selected at least one of which relates to each location; and producing a photo product including the selected images positioned in the photo product in association with prestored information that relates to the respective scenes in the plurality of locations.

Claims (36)

1 . A method for providing a photo product, comprising:

a) receiving, over a wireless communications network, a plurality of captured images from a wireless capture device taken at different locations along a route;

b) evaluating one or more images taken at different locations according to predetermined criteria and if an image meets such criteria selecting such image so that a predetermined number of images has been selected at least one of which relates to each location; and

c) producing a photo product including the selected images positioned in the photo product in association with prestored information that relates to the respective scenes in the plurality of locations.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , further including sending guidance instructions over the wireless communication network to the wireless capture device to guide the user to the different locations along the route.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , further including receiving geolocation information associated with each of the captured images, and wherein the predetermined criteria includes geolocation related criteria.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the predetermined criteria includes facial recognition related criteria.

5 . The method according to claim 4 , wherein the facial recognition related criteria includes age related criteria.

6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the predetermined criteria includes image composition related criteria.

7 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the facial recognition related criteria relates to the number of detected faces.

8 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the predetermined criteria includes landmark recognition related criteria.

9 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the predetermined criteria includes both geolocation related criteria and landmark recognition related criteria.

10 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the photo product further includes an advertisement.

11 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the advertisement is selected from a plurality of possible advertisements based on the criteria.

12 . The method according to claim 10 , further including obtaining weather related information, and wherein the advertisement is selected from a plurality of possible advertisements responsive to the weather related information.

13 . The method according to claim 12 , wherein the weather related information is obtained over a network from a weather information provider.

14 . The method according to claim 10 , further including obtaining time of day related information, and wherein the advertisement is selected from a plurality of possible advertisements responsive to the time of day.

15 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein the time of day related information is obtained by receiving time related information from the wireless capture device.

16 . The method according to claim 10 , further including evaluating at least one of the captured images to determine the approximate age of a person depicted in the captured image, and wherein the advertisement is selected from a plurality of possible advertisements responsive to the approximate age of the person.

17 . A method for providing a photo product, comprising:

a) receiving, from a wireless capture device as a user of the wireless capture device moves from location to location in response to clues transmitted to the wireless capture device, a plurality of captured images taken at different locations along the route;

b) evaluating one or more of the captured images according to predetermined criteria and if a captured image meets such criteria selecting such captured image so that a predetermined number of captured images is selected, at least one of which relates to each location; and

c) producing a photo product including the selected captured images positioned in the photo product with prestored information that relates to the plurality of locations.

18 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the wireless capture device is a mobile phone.

19 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the prestored information includes information about each scene and includes advertising information provided in the photo product.

20 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein the advertising information provides information related to another product produced using at least one of the captured images.

21 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the photo product is a printed booklet.

22 . The method according to claim 21 , further including transmitting information to the wireless capture device related to where the printed booklet can be obtained.

23 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the photo product includes an advertisement selected from a plurality of possible advertisements.

24 . The method according to claim 23 , further including obtaining weather related information, and wherein the advertisement is selected responsive to the weather related information.

25 . The method according to claim 24 , wherein the weather related information is obtained over a network from a weather information provider.

26 . The method according to claim 23 , further including obtaining time of day related information, and wherein the advertisement is selected from a plurality of possible advertisements responsive to the time of day.

27 . The method according to claim 26 , wherein the time of day related information is obtained by receiving time related information from the wireless capture device.

28 . The method according to claim 23 , further including evaluating at least one of the captured images to determine the approximate age of a person depicted in the captured image, and wherein the advertisement is selected responsive to the approximate age of the person.

29 . The method according to claim 17 , further including modifying one or more of the selected captured images prior to positioning the selected captured images in the photo product.
