Abstract

A radio communication apparatus and an associated method are provided. The apparatus includes a receiving unit configured to receive first data and second data, which are transmitted from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided. The apparatus further includes a calculating unit configured to calculate a first absolute CQI value per each of the blocks for the first data and a second absolute CQI value per each of the blocks for the second data, and calculate a relative value of the second absolute CQI value with respect to the first absolute CQI value, per each of the blocks. The apparatus still further includes a transmitting unit configured to transmit the first absolute CQI value and the relative value of the second absolute CQI value in the same block.

Claims (30)

1. A radio communication apparatus comprising:

a receiving unit configured to receive first data and second data, which are transmitted from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided;

a calculating unit configured to calculate a channel quality indicator (CQI) value per each of the blocks for each of the first data and the second data; and

a transmitting unit configured to transmit the CQI value,

wherein said calculating unit calculates a relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers with respect to an absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers, and said transmitting unit transmits the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

2. A radio communication apparatus comprising:

a transmitting unit configured to transmit, to a receiving apparatus, first data and second data from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided; and

a receiving unit configured to receive a channel quality indicator (CQI) value which is calculated per each of the blocks for each of the first data and the second data at the receiving apparatus and which is transmitted from the receiving apparatus,

wherein, at the receiving apparatus, a relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers is calculated with respect to an absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers, and said receiving unit receives the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

3. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein said transmitting unit transmits data with frequency scheduling based on the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

4. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a modulating unit configured to modulate data based on the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

5. A radio communication method comprising:

receiving first data and second data, which are transmitted from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided;

calculating a channel quality indicator (CQI) value per each of the blocks for each of the first data and the second data; and

transmitting the CQI value,

wherein a relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers is calculated with respect to an absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers, and the CQI value and the relative CQI value are transmitted.

6. A radio communication method comprising:

transmitting, to a receiving apparatus, first data and second data from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided; and

receiving a channel quality indicator (CQI) value, which is calculated per each of the blocks for each of the first data and the second data at the receiving apparatus and which is transmitted from the receiving apparatus,

wherein, at the receiving apparatus, a relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers is calculated with respect to an absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers, and the CQI value and the relative CQI value are received.

7. A radio communication apparatus comprising:

a transmission controlling unit configured to control a transmission of first data and second data from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided; and

a receiving unit configured to receive a relative channel quality indicator (CQI) value and an absolute CQI value, the relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers being relative to the absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers,

wherein said transmission controlling unit controls the transmission based on the relative CQI value and the absolute CQI value.

8. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein said transmission controlling unit controls a transmission of data by frequency scheduling based on the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

9. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 7 , further comprising a modulating unit configured to modulate data based on the absolute CQI value and the relative CQI value.

10. A radio communication method comprising:

controlling a transmission of first data and second data from a plurality of antennas for spatial-multiplexing using a plurality of blocks, into which a plurality of consecutive subcarriers in a frequency domain are divided; and

receiving a relative channel quality indicator (CQI) value and an absolute CQI value, the relative CQI value for one of the first data and the second data in a block defined by subcarriers being relative to the absolute CQI value for the other of the first data and the second data in the same block defined by the same subcarriers,

wherein the transmission is controlled based on the relative CQI value and the absolute CQI value.
