Abstract

A system renders presentation pages such as in a wireless communications system. A server includes an extensible stylesheet transformation (XSLT) module. A storage medium contains at least one of images and text. The XSLT module is operative for calling an XSL extension and rendering the at least one of images and text into a presentation page based on a language requirement at a foreign locale.

Claims (39)

1. A system for rendering presentation pages, comprising:

a mobile office platform server that:

stores a plurality of resource deployment packages, each resource deployment package comprising a descriptor file and a set of resources defined for a particular user language associated with a foreign user locale, the set of resources comprising at least one of images and text for insertion in a presentation page on a user's mobile wireless communications device,

renders at least one resource including a plurality of images and text from the plurality of resources deployment packages into a plurality of presentation pages, each presentation page comprising localized content in a different user language based on a language requirement at a foreign user locale and a device type, and

automatically transfers to the user's mobile wireless communications device, for presentation on a display of the mobile wireless communications device, the rendered presentation page comprising the localized content in the user language corresponding to the foreign user locale and the device type of the mobile wireless communications device;

a proxy that deploys the at least one resource to the server; and

a deployment service that saves the at least one resource and notifies the proxy of at least one new resource for deployment.

2. The system according to claim 1 , further comprising:

an extensible stylesheet transformer to generate the localized content; and

resource bundles for at least one of localized images and text that are rendered into an XML document to be processed by the extensible stylesheet transformer.

3. The system according to claim 1 , wherein each presentation page is further based on a brand, the localized content comprises content based on the user language corresponding to the foreign user locale, the device type and the brand at the foreign user locale.

4. The system according to claim 1 , wherein the server operates using a JAVA extension.

5. The system according to claim 1 , wherein the server renders at least one of an HTML output and a WAP output.

6. The system according to claim 1 , wherein the server comprises a web server.

7. The system according to claim 1 , wherein the server comprises an electronic mail server.

8. A system for rendering presentation pages, comprising:

a mobile wireless communications device; and

a mobile office platform that communicates with the mobile wireless communications device over a wireless communications network, the mobile office platform comprising

a server that:

stores a plurality of resource deployment packages, each resource deployment package comprising a descriptor file and a set of resources defined for a particular user language associated with a foreign user locale, the set of resources comprising at least one of images and text for insertion in a presentation page on a user's mobile wireless communications device,

renders at least one resource including a plurality of images and text from the plurality of resources deployment packages into a plurality of presentation pages, each presentation page comprising localized content in a different user language based on a language requirement at a foreign user locale and a device type, and

automatically transfers to the user's mobile wireless communications device, for presentation on a display of the mobile wireless communications device, the rendered presentation page comprising the localized content in the user language corresponding to the foreign user locale and the device type of the mobile wireless communications device;

a proxy that deploys the at least one resource to the server; and

a deployment service that saves the at least one resource and notifies the proxy of at least one new resource for deployment.

9. The system according to claim 8 , further comprising:

an extensible stylesheet transformer to generate the localized content; and

resource bundles for at least one of localized images and text that are rendered into an XML document to be processed by the extensible stylesheet transformer.

10. The system according to claim 9 , wherein each presentation page is further based on a brand, the localized content comprises content based on the user language corresponding to the foreign user locale, the device type and the brand at the user locale.

11. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the extensible stylesheet extension comprises a JAVA extension.

12. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the server renders at least one of an HTML output and a WAP output.

13. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the server comprises a web server.

14. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the server comprises an electronic mail server.

15. A method for rendering presentation pages comprising:

a mobile office platform server performing operations to:

store a plurality of resource deployment packages, each resource deployment package comprising a descriptor file and a set of resources defined for a particular user language associated with a foreign user locale, the set of resources comprising at least one of images and text for insertion in a presentation page on a user's mobile wireless communications device,

render at least one resource including a plurality of images and text from the plurality of resources deployment packages into a plurality of presentation pages, each presentation page comprising localized content in a different user language based on a language requirement at a foreign user locale and a device type, and

automatically transfer to the user's mobile wireless communications device, for presentation on a display of the mobile wireless communications device, the rendered presentation page comprising the localized content in the user language corresponding to the foreign user locale and the device type of the mobile wireless communications device;

cooperating with a proxy to deploy the at least one resource to the server; and

cooperate with a deployment service to save to the at least one resource and notify the proxy of at least one new resource for deployment.
