Abstract

General health and wellness management techniques and devices are described including receiving data representing an activity profile defining parameters upon which a target activity score is established, acquiring sensor data representing acquired parameters based on sensors in a wearable computing device, determining values for the subsets of the acquired parameters based on reference values for the parameters set forth in the activity profile, establishing an ability profile using the values, the ability profile associated with a classification, calculating an activity score based on the values, detecting a difference between the activity score and the target activity score, modifying a rate at which the activity score accrues as a function of the difference, and presenting a representation of the activity score relative to the target activity score.

causing presentation of a representation of the score relative to the target score;

determining a magnitude of a difference between the score and the target score;

predicting a subset of the acquired parameters to cause a reduction of the difference between the score and the target score; and

causing generation of data representing a recommendation to engage in a health-related activity, wherein causing generation of the data representing the recommendation comprises:

causing generation of data representing a suggestion to interact physically with a structure associated with a location, and

causing presentation of the suggestion to interact physically with the structure to cause the reduction of the difference between the score and the target score.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a context score based on one or more location-related parameters;

adjusting the score based on the context score to modify the magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score to form a modified magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score; and

causing generation of data representing the recommendation to engage in the health-related activity based on the modified magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein causing generation of the data representing the recommendation further comprises:

causing generation of data representing the suggestion to engage in the health-related activity associated with a feature of the structure; and

causing a reduction of the difference between the score and the target score based on the completion of the health-related activity associated with the feature of the structure.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein causing generation of data representing the suggestion to engagement in the health-related activity associated with a feature of the structure further comprises:

determining a path to avoid health-related activities that cause an increase of the difference between the score and the target score.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

causing generation of a notification to navigate within the structure associated with the location.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the notification is vibratory.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein causing the generation of data representing the recommendation further comprises:

causing generation of data representing another health-related activity based on one or more subsets of location-related parameters, wherein the another health-related activity is associated with the structure associated with the location; and

causing presentation of a choice between engagement in the health-related activity or the other health related activity.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein causing generation of the data representing the recommendation further comprises:

causing generation of data representing a suggestion to exit the structure associated with the location.

9 . The method of claim 12 , wherein causing generation of the data representing the recommendation further comprises:

causing generation of data representing a suggestion to interact physically with another structure based on data representing one or more subsets of acquired location-related parameters.

10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

emphasizing the contribution of the recommended health-related activity to the score.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein emphasizing the contribution of the recommended health-related activity to the score further comprises:

assigning a weight to amplify the value of the recommended health-related activity to induce engagement in the recommended health-related activity.

12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

adjusting the target score to form an adjusted target score that causes a change of a classification, the change of the classification being based on the magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score;

re-determining the magnitude of the difference between the score and the adjusted target score; and

causing generation of data representing the recommendation to engage in the health-related activity based on the magnitude of difference between the score and the adjusted target score.

13 . An apparatus comprising:

a first interface configured to receive data representing acquired parameters from one or more sensors, at least one sensor being disposed in a wearable computing device;

a repository configured to store data representing a profile defining parameters upon which a target score is established;

a health and wellness module configured to receive data representing a subset of the acquired parameters and further configured to determine data representing values for the subset of the acquired parameters, the values representing a point value relative to reference values for the parameters set forth in the profile;

a conversion module comprising a score generator configured to calculate a score based on data representing the values, the conversion module is further configured to determine a magnitude of a difference between the score and the target score;

a processor configured to predict a subset of the acquired parameters to cause a reduction of the difference between the score and the target score, the processor is further configured to cause generation of data representing a recommendation to engage in a health-related activity and to cause generation of data representing a suggestion to interact physically with a structure associated with a location; and

a status manager configured to cause presentation of the suggestion to interact physically with the structure associated with the location and to cause presentation of a representation of the score.

14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause generation of data representing the suggestion to engage in the health-related activity associated with a feature of the structure and to cause a reduction of the difference between the score and the target score based on the completion of the health-related activity associated with the feature of the structure.

15 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine a path to avoid health-related activities that cause an increase of the difference between the score and the target score.

16 . The apparatus of claim 13 , further comprising:

a context score generator configured to determine a context score based on one or more location-related parameters,

wherein the score generator is further configured to adjust the score based on the context score to modify the magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score to form a modified magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score, and the processor is further configured to cause generation of data representing the recommendation to engage in the health-related activity based on the modified magnitude of the difference between the score and the target score.

17 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause generation of a notification to navigate within the structure associated with the location.

18 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause generation of data representing another health-related activity based on one or more subsets of location-related parameters, wherein the another health-related activity is associated with the structure associated with the location, and to cause presentation of a choice between engagement in the health-related activity or the other health related activity.
