Abstract

A backlight device includes a frame with a first opening having a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side, a planar light source which is disposed in the first opening of the frame, a plurality of optical sheet groups which are disposed on the planar light source and include a first optical sheet group and a second optical sheet group, and an adhesive layer which has a second opening formed along the first, second, third, and fourth sides of the frame. The first optical sheet group is fixed to the frame via the adhesive layer at the second, third, and fourth sides of the frame, and the second optical sheet group is fixed to the frame at the first side of the frame and is not fixed to the frame at the second, the third, and fourth sides of the frame.

Claims (19)

1. A backlight device comprising:

a frame which includes a first opening having a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side;

a planar light source which is disposed in the first opening of the frame;

a plurality of optical sheet groups which are disposed on the planar light source and include a first optical sheet group and a second optical sheet group; and

an adhesive layer which has a second opening formed along the first side, second side, third side, and the fourth side of the frame;

wherein the first optical sheet group is fixed to the frame via the adhesive layer at the second side, third side, and the fourth side of the frame; and

wherein the second optical sheet group is fixed to the frame at the first side of the frame and is not fixed to the frame at the second side, the third side, and the fourth side of the frame.

2. The backlight device according to claim 1 , wherein

in plan view, the adhesive layer overlaps to the first optical sheet group and the frame at the second side, the third side, and the fourth side of the frame;

in plan view, the first optical sheet group and the frame does not overlap to each other at the second side, the third side, and the fourth side of the frame;

in plan view, the adhesive layer overlaps to the second optical sheet group and the frame at the first side of the frame; and

the second optical sheet group is fixed to the frame via the adhesive layer at the first side of the frame.

3. The backlight device according to claim 1 , wherein

the adhesive layer whose both surfaces are formed as adhesive surfaces is a light shielding layer.

4. The back light device according to claim 3 , wherein

the planar light source includes a plurality of LEDs, a reflection sheet, and a light guide; and

the plurality of LEDs is disposed by the first side of the frame and is arranged along the first side of the frame.

5. The back light device according to claim 4 , wherein

a rib is formed on the frame along the second side, the third side, and the fourth side of the frame and surrounds the adhesive sheet.
