Abstract

A method for controlling access to a conference call, the method comprising authenticating a mobile device in accordance with access requirements for the conference call rejecting the mobile device if the participant does not comply with the access requirements in response to the rejection, determining by a processor based on information other than said access requirements that the mobile device is legitimate and overriding the rejection to allow connection to the conference call if it is determined that the mobile device is legitimate.

Claims (29)

1. A method at a server for controlling access to a conference call, the method comprising:

authenticating by the server a mobile device in accordance with an access requirement for the conference call;

rejecting by the server the mobile device when the mobile device does not comply with the access requirement;

in response to the rejection, determining by the server based on information other than said access requirement that the mobile device is legitimate;

overriding the rejection to allow connection to the conference call when it is determined that the mobile device is legitimate; and

in response to overriding, fetching a participant associated with the mobile device.

2. The method as defined in claim 1 , a notification of the rejection being transmitted to a moderator of the conference call.

3. The method as defined in claim 1 , a notification of the rejection being received by a participant of the conference call.

4. The method as defined in claim 1 , the other information being transmitted to a moderator.

5. The method as defined in claim 4 , the other information being an email received from a rejected the participant.

6. The method as defined in claim 1 , including using an address book to determine the request is legitimate.

7. The method as defined in claim 1 , including generating a log of all requests to participate.

8. The method as defined in claim 7 , the log including a credential associated with the requests to participate.

9. A non-transitory computer readable medium configured to store computer executable instructions, which, when executed by a processor of a server are configured to:

authenticate a mobile device requesting access to a conference call in accordance with an access requirement for the conference call;

reject, by the processor of the server, the mobile device when the mobile device does not comply with the access requirement;

determine, in response to the rejection, based on information other than said access requirement that the mobile device is legitimate;

override the rejection to allow connection to the conference call when it is determined that the mobile device is legitimate; and

in response to overriding, fetch a participant associated with the mobile device.

10. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , the information other than said access requirement being an email received from the rejected mobile device.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , the information other than said access requirement being obtained from an address book.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit a notification of the rejection to a moderator of the conference call.

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit a notification of the rejection to a participant of the conference call.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , the information other than said access requirement being transmitted to a moderator.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 14 , the information other than said access requirement being an email received from a rejected the participant.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to use an address book to determine the request is legitimate.

17. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to generate a log of all requests to participate.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 17 , the log including a credential associated with the requests to participate.

19. The non-transitory computer readable medium as defined in claim 18 , the log including a credential of rejected mobile devices.
