Abstract

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In embodiments, the operations can include detecting an environmental condition external to a wagering game machine. The operations can further include generating, based on the environmental condition, an animated wagering game effect. The operations can further include modifying, based on the animated wagering game effect, a wagering game object of a wagering game. The operations can further include presenting, on the wagering game machine, the modified wagering game object of the wagering game.

Claims (39)

1 . A method comprising:

detecting, via sensors associated with a wagering game machine, an environmental condition external to the wagering game machine;

generating, by one or more processors based on the environmental condition, an animated wagering game effect;

modifying, by the one or more processors based on the animated wagering game effect, a wagering game object of a wagering game; and

presenting, on the wagering game machine, the modified wagering game object of the wagering game.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the environmental condition is one of sound and wind.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the modifying the wagering game object further comprises:

causing, based on the animated wagering game effect, the wagering game object to move in a way that appears as though the one of the sound and the wind caused the wagering game object to move.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the environmental condition is light external to the wagering game machine, and wherein the generating the animated wagering game effect further comprises:

generating, based on the light external to the wagering game machine, an animated light source, wherein the animated light source emulates one or more of a location of the light external to the wagering game machine, a direction of the light external to the wagering game machine, a color of the light external to the wagering game machine, and an intensity of the light external to the wagering game machine.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the modifying the one or more wagering game objects further comprises:

generating, based on the animated light source, an animated shadow for the wagering game object.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the modifying the wagering game object of the wagering game further comprises:

determining a programmed physical property for the wagering game object; and

modifying, based on the programmed physical property, the wagering game object.

7 . A method comprising:

detecting, via sensors associated with a wagering game machine, an environmental condition external to the wagering game machine;

determining, by one or more processors, a programmed physical property of a wagering game object of a wagering game presented on the wagering game machine; and

causing, by the one or more processors based on the environmental condition and the programmed physical property of the wagering game object, the wagering game object to move in a way that appears as though the environmental condition affected the wagering game object.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the environmental condition is a sound.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the causing the wagering game object to move in a way that appears as though the environmental condition affected the wagering game object comprises one of an attraction and a repulsion of the wagering game object to the sound.

10 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

determining a programmed physical property of a second wagering game object; and

causing, based on the environmental condition and the programmed physical property of the second wagering game object, the second wagering game object to remain stationary.

11 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

generating, based on the environmental condition, an animated effect, wherein the causing the wagering game object to move in a way that appears as though the environmental condition affected the wagering game object incorporates the animated effect.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the environmental condition is a sound and the animated effect is a graphic representing sound waves.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the environmental condition is wind and the animated effect is a graphic representing the wind.

14 . The method of claim 7 wherein the environmental condition is one or more of light, air density, air pressure, air temperature, air density, humidity, and activities of casino patrons.

15 . One or more machine-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon, which when executed by a set of one or more processors cause the set of one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

detecting, via sensors associated with a wagering game machine, an environmental condition external to the wagering game machine;

determining, for a wagering game object associated with a wagering game, a programmed physical property; and

causing, based on the environmental condition and the programmed physical property, the wagering game object to move in a manner that appears as though the environmental condition caused the wagering game object to move.

16 . The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 15 , wherein the environmental condition is a sound.

17 . The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 16 , wherein the causing the wagering game object to move in a manner that appears as though the environmental condition caused the wagering game object to move comprises one of an attraction and a repulsion of the wagering game object to the sound.

18 . The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 16 , the operations further comprising:

generating, based on the environmental condition, an animated effect, wherein the causing the wagering game object to move in a manner that appears as though the environmental condition caused the wagering game object to move incorporates the animated effect.

19 . The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 18 , wherein the environmental condition is a sound and the animated effect is a graphic representing sound waves.

20 . The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 19 , wherein the environmental condition is wind and the animated effect is a graphic representing the wind.
