Method and apparatus for delivery of submicroliter volumes onto a substrate
View Patent ↗A substrate for use in mass spectrometric analyzes having an array of target locations.
1. A substrate for use in mass spectrometric analyses, comprising:
a solid support comprising silicon or silicon dioxide;
an array of target locations on a surface of the solid support; each target location of the array consists of a first material which is a positive photoresist material having a first contact angle and which is resistant to silation;
each target location is surrounded by an area on the surface of the solid support comprising a silane having a second contact angle; and
the first contact angle is at least about 20 degrees less than the second contact angle.
2. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the silane is dimethyldichlorosilane (DMDCS).
3. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the array consists of 24 target locations.
4. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the array consists of 96 target locations or 384 target locations.
5. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the first contact angle is about 70 degrees.
6. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the solid support comprises a silicon wafer.
7. The substrate of claim 1 , wherein the areas surrounding the target locations have a second contact angle of about 90 degrees.
