Abstract

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure builds on integrating existing technology with new devices, methods, and systems to provide a complete vehicle ecosystem.

Claims (33)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method to determine compliance with roadway rules comprising:

obtaining, via a global positioning system module associated with a vehicle, location information of the vehicle from a global positioning service;

monitoring and storing, via a controller associated with the vehicle, data from one or more vehicle sensors;

accessing one or more laws and regulations applicable to and corresponding to a location based on the obtained location information of the vehicle;

comparing, via a processor associated with the vehicle, the one or more laws and regulations to the stored data and determining if a law or regulation has been violated;

determining, in response to receiving a query from an interrogator positioned along a road, a geographical location of the interrogator, wherein the query is received as the vehicle passes the position of the interrogator;

filtering, via the controller, the stored data based on the determined geographical location of the interrogator; and

providing information corresponding to one or more of the filtered stored data, results of the comparison, and other vehicle information to the interrogator.

22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising providing feedback to a driver when a violation occurs.

23 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising reporting a violation to one or more entities.

24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising downloading the one or more laws and regulations for an applicable area to a memory of the vehicle.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the interrogator is a rule trap sensor.

26 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising determining whether the query is authorized.

27 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising restricting a response to the query to provide data monitored while the vehicle was within one or more of a certain distance of the geographical location of the interrogator and a time period based on a time when the query was received and an amount of time before the query was received.

28 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:

filtering, via the controller and in response to determining the query is authorized, a type of the information provided to the interrogator based on one or more rules stored in a memory associated with the vehicle.

29 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the vehicle sensors including one or more of a perimeter sensor, a proximity sensor, a G-force sensor, a speed sensor, a mileage monitor, a biometric sensor, a braking sensor, an acceleration sensor, a turn signal sensor, a light sensor, a radio sensor, a communications sensor, a passenger sensor and a camera.

30 . A non-transitory computer readable information storage media having stored thereon instructions, that when executed by one or more processors, cause the steps of claim 21 to be performed.

31 . A system adapted to determine compliance with roadway rules comprising:

a GPS module associated with a vehicle and adapted to obtain location information of the vehicle from a global positioning service;

a controller associated with the vehicle adapted to monitor and store data from one or more vehicle sensors;

a communications module adapted to access one or more laws and regulations applicable to and corresponding to a location based on the obtained location information of the vehicle; and

a law module associated with the vehicle that compares the one or more laws and regulations to the stored data and determines if a law or regulation has been violated, wherein the controller is further adapted to determine, in response to receiving a query from an interrogator positioned along a road, a geographical location of the interrogator, wherein the query is received as the vehicle passes the position of the interrogator, filter the stored data based on the determined geographical location of the interrogator, and wherein the communications module is further adapted to provide information corresponding to one or more of the filtered stored data, results of the comparison, and other vehicle information to the interrogator.

32 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising a feedback module adapted to provide feedback to a driver when a violation occurs.

33 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising a feedback module that reports a violation to one or more entities.

34 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the one or more laws and regulations for an applicable area are downloaded to a memory of the vehicle.

35 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the interrogator is a rule trap sensor.

36 . The system of claim 31 , wherein a determination is made by the controller whether the query is authorized.

37 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the controller restricts a response to the query to provide data monitored while the vehicle was within one or more of a certain distance of the geographical location of the interrogator and a time period based on a time when the query was received and an amount of time before the query was received.

38 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the controller is adapted to filter, in response to determining the query is authorized, a type of the information provided to the interrogator based on one or more rules stored in a memory associated with the vehicle.

39 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the vehicle sensors including one or more of a perimeter sensor, a proximity sensor, a G-force sensor, a speed sensor, a mileage monitor, a biometric sensor, a braking sensor, an acceleration sensor, a turn signal sensor, a light sensor, a radio sensor, a communications sensor, a passenger sensor and a camera.

40 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the interrogator is one or more of embedded in, alongside or above a road, or associated with an entity.
