Abstract

A lighting device that includes a first panel of light sources, where the first panel has a first edge. The lighting device can also include a second panel of light sources, where the second panel has a second edge, where the second edge of the second panel of light sources is mechanically coupled to the first edge of the first panel of light sources. The first panel of light sources and the second panel of light sources can form an angle relative to each other. Adjusting the angle can adjust the light output from the light sources. Such an angle can be formed based on a target level of light received by a target area.

Claims (38)

1. An electrical enclosure, comprising:

at least one wall forming a cavity;

at least one device disposed within the cavity; and

an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) disposed within the cavity,

wherein the OLED provides illumination directed toward the at least one device within the cavity, and

wherein the at least one device is mechanically coupled to the at least one wall.

2. The electrical enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the OLED is moved from a first location within the cavity to a second location within the cavity.

3. The electrical enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising a switch operatively coupled to the OLED, wherein the switch controls power flowing to the OLED, wherein the power illuminates the OLED.

4. The electrical enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the OLED is mounted on the at least one wall.

5. The electrical enclosure of claim 4 , wherein the OLED is mounted within an aperture in the at least one wall so that the OLED fails to protrude beyond the at least one wall into the cavity.

6. The electrical enclosure of claim 5 , further comprising:

a lens disposed adjacent to the OLED at the aperture in the at least one wall.

7. The electrical enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the at least one device comprises an electrical connector end.

8. The electrical enclosure of claim 7 , wherein the OLED illuminates a keyway disposed on the electrical connector end so that a device that mechanically couples to the electrical connector end is properly oriented.

9. The electrical enclosure of claim 7 , wherein the OLED illuminates at least one portion of the electrical connector end so that a polarity of a corresponding connector end is properly oriented when the corresponding connector end mechanically couples to the electrical connector end.

10. The electrical enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising:

a viewing assembly disposed in and traversing the at least one wall, wherein the illumination provided by the OLED within the cavity can be seen through a viewing window of the viewing assembly.

11. The electrical enclosure of claim 10 , wherein the viewing assembly comprises a plate coupled to an inner surface of the at least one wall.

12. The electrical enclosure of claim 11 , wherein the plate forms a flame path with the at least one wall.

13. The electrical enclosure of claim 11 , wherein the OLED is disposed within the viewing assembly.

14. An electrical enclosure, comprising:

at least one wall forming a cavity;

at least one device disposed within the cavity;

an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) disposed within the cavity; and

a switch operatively coupled to the OLED, wherein the switch controls power flowing to the OLED, wherein the power illuminates the OLED, and

wherein the OLED provides illumination directed toward the at least one device within the cavity.

15. A lighting fixture, comprising:

a housing having a cavity within at least one wall;

a lens mechanically coupled to the housing, wherein the lens diffuses light emitted from within the cavity of the housing, and wherein a seal formed between the lens and the housing isolates the cavity from a hazardous ambient environment so that gases in the hazardous ambient environment are prevented from entering the cavity;

a power supply disposed within the cavity; and

at least one organic light-emitting diode (OLED) disposed within the cavity and electrically coupled to the power source,

wherein light emitted by the at least one OLED passes through the lens, and

wherein the seal between the housing and the lens is configured to contain an explosion that originates within the cavity to prevent igniting the gases in the hazardous ambient environment.

16. The lighting fixture of claim 15 , further comprising a conductor partially disposed within the cavity and electrically coupled to the power supply, wherein the conductor traverses an aperture in the housing and electrically couples to a power source located outside the housing.

17. The lighting fixture of claim 15 , where the housing is made of a non-metallic material.

18. The lighting fixture of claim 15 , wherein the seal formed between the housing and the lens is a hermetic seal.

19. The lighting fixture of claim 15 , wherein the power source and the at least one OLED are encapsulated within the cavity.

20. The lighting fixture of claim 15 , wherein the seal formed between the lens and the housing resists degradation and remains intact over time.
