Abstract

The present invention relates to an image processing device and method whereby deterioration of effects of filter processing due to local control of filter processing when encoding or decoding can be suppressed. A boundary control flag generating unit of a control information generating unit generates boundary control flags based on system specification information which a system specification managing unit manages. A control unit of an adaptive filter processing unit determines a processing method for filter processing to be performed as to pixels nearby a slice boundary following the value of the boundary control flag. For example, selection is made to perform filter processing straddling slices or to perform filter processing closed at the present slice. The present invention can be applied to an image processing device, for example.

Claims (39)

1. An image decoding device comprising at least one processor and memory, the processor, working together with the memory, being configured to:

receive a bit stream of image data;

decode, from the bit stream, a first control information indicating whether or not a filtering process is performed on an image block of the image data;

decode, from the bit stream, a second control information indicating whether or not the filtering process is performed across a boundary of a current slice including the image block;

derive a position of the image block, the position of the image block being obtained from block size information for the image block;

when the first control information indicates the filtering process is not performed on the image block, the filtering process is not applied on any pixel of the image block; and

when the first control information indicates the filtering process is performed on the image block, perform the filtering process on the image block based on the first control information, the second control information, and the position of the image block.

2. The image decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein the second control information is included in a slice header of the current slice including the image block.

3. The image decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor, working together with the memory, is further configured to perform the filtering process on all pixels of the image block when the first control information indicates that the filtering process is to be performed on the image block and the second control information indicates that the filtering process is performed across the boundary of the current slice.

4. The image decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor, working together with the memory, is further configured to perform the filtering process on all pixels exclusive of slice boundary pixels of the image block when the first control information indicates that the filtering process is to be performed on the image block and the second control information indicates that the filtering process uses no pixels in a next slice.

5. The image decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein the image decoding device further comprises a digital tuner, wherein the processor, working together with the memory and the digital tuner, is further configured to receive a broadcast wave signal of a digital broadcast including the bit stream of image data comprising the first control information and the second control information.

6. An image decoding method, comprising:

receiving a bit stream of image data;

decoding, from the bit stream, a first control information indicating whether or not a filtering process is performed on an image block of the image data;

decoding, from the bit stream, a second control information indicating whether or not the filtering process is performed across a boundary of a current slice including the image block;

deriving a position of the image block, the position of the image block being obtained from block size information for the image block;

when the first control information indicates the filtering process is not performed on the image block, not performing the filtering process on any pixel of the image block; and

when the first control information indicates the filtering process is performed on the image block, performing the filtering process on the image block based on the first control information, the second control information, and the position of the image block.

7. The image decoding method according to claim 6 , wherein the second control information is included in a slice header of the current slice including the image block.

8. The image decoding method according to claim 6 , further comprising:

performing the filtering process on all pixels of the image block when the first control information indicates that the filtering process is to be performed on the image block and the second control information indicates that the filtering process is performed across the boundary of the current slice.

9. The image decoding method according to claim 6 , further comprising:

performing the filtering process on all pixels exclusive of slice boundary pixels of the image block when the first control information indicates that the filtering process is to be performed on the image block and the second control information indicates that the filtering process uses no pixels in a next slice.

10. The image decoding method according to claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving a broadcast wave signal of a digital broadcast including the bit stream of image data comprising the first control information and the second control information.

11. A non-transitory computer readable medium encoded with a computer program that, when executed by a computer, causes the computer to implement an image decoding method comprising:

receiving a bit stream of image data;

decoding, from the bit stream, a first control information indicating whether or not a filtering process is performed on an image block of the image data;

decoding, from the bit stream, a second control information indicating whether or not the filtering process is performed across a boundary of a current slice including the image block;

deriving a position of the image block, the position of the image block being obtained from block size information for the image block;
