Abstract

A locator assembly is provided. The locator assembly includes an article of wear and a location sending device embedded in the article of wear. A bio-related electric generator is connected to the location sending device for providing power for the location sending device. A system for locating a person and a locating method are also provided.

Claims (29)

1. A locator assembly comprising:

an article of wear comprising a shoe;

a location sending device comprising a location determining device and an accelerometer embedded in the shoe for determining a transition to a new user motion state from a prior user motion state based at least on data from the accelerometer and for sending out the new user motion state via a network responsive to the transition;

at least one battery connected to the location sending device; and

a bio-mechanical electric generator embedded in the shoe and connected to the at least one battery for recharging the at least one battery connected to the location sending device for providing power for the location sending device via the at least one battery.

2. The locator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the location sending device comprises a Global Positioning System (GPS) equipped cellular communication device.

3. The locator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the location sending device automatically sends out location information via the network.

4. The locator assembly of claim 3 , wherein the location sending device is configured to determine an allowed area and to send out the location information via the network when the location sending device is outside of the allowed area.

5. The locator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the location sending device is configured to receive a request and send out location information determined by the location determining device responsive to the request.

6. The locator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the at least one battery is embedded in the shoe.

7. A locator assembly comprising:

an article of clothing comprising at least one of rants, underwear, or a shirt comprising an elastic band;

a computerized location sending device comprising a location determining device and an accelerometer, the location sending device configured to determine a transition to a new user motion state from a prior user motion state based at least on data from the accelerometer and data from the location determining device, and configured to send out the new user motion state via a network responsive to the transition;

at least one battery connected to the location sending device for powering the location sending device; and

a chemical electric generator connected to the at least one battery for recharging the at least one battery;

wherein the location sending device, the at least one battery, and the chemical electric generator are attached to the elastic band of the article of clothing comprising the at least one of the pants, the underwear, or the shirt.

8. The locator assembly of claim 7 , wherein the article of clothing comprises the underwear and the elastic band comprises a waistband of the underwear, and the location sending device and the chemical electric generator are embedded in the waistband.

9. The locator assembly of claim 7 , wherein the location sending device is further configured to send out location data via the network responsive to the transition.

10. The locator assembly of claim 7 , wherein the location sending device is configured to implement a classifier configured for accessing the data from the accelerometer and the data from the location determining device, and the classifier is configured to determine the new user motion state of a user wearing the article of clothing based on at least the data from the accelerometer and the data from the location determining device.

11. The locator assembly of claim 7 , wherein the chemical electric generator is configured to convert body sugar to electricity.

12. A locator assembly comprising:

an article of clothing comprising at least one of rants or underwear comprising an elastic waistband configured for contact with a body of a person;

a computerized data sending device comprising a location determining device and an accelerometer embedded in the elastic waistband of the article of clothing, the data sending device configured to determine a transition to a new user motion state from a prior user motion state based on data from the accelerometer and data from the location determining device, and configured to send out the new user motion state to a network-connected computing system responsive to the transition;

at least one battery embedded in the elastic waistband connected to the data sending device for powering the data sending device; and

a bio-related electric generator embedded in the elastic waistband connected to the at least one battery for recharging the at least one battery.

13. The locator assembly of claim 12 , wherein the bio-related electric generator comprises a chemical electric generator.

14. The locator assembly of claim 13 , wherein the chemical electric generator is configured to convert body sugar to electricity.

15. The locator assembly of claim 12 , wherein the bio-related electric generator comprises a thermally activated electric generator.

16. The locator assembly of claim 12 , wherein the bio-related electric generator comprises a bio-mechanical electric generator.
