Abstract

The present disclosure is related to systems and methods of monitoring data of a network application. An embedded browser of a client application on a client device may initiate a request to access a network application hosted on a server. The client application may, responsive to the request, establish a secure session to communicate data of the network application to the client application for rendering in a display region of the embedded browser. The client application may decrypt the data communicated via the established secure session to monitor the network application.

Claims (28)

1. A method for monitoring data of a network application, the method comprising:

initiating, via a browser embedded into a client application on a client device, a request to access a network application hosted on a server;

establishing, by the client application responsive to the request, a secure session to communicate data from the network application, via the client application, to the browser to render in a display region of the browser; and

decrypting, by the client application, the data communicated via the established secure session to monitor the network application, wherein to monitor the network application includes performing analysis on the decrypted data from the network application by determining a statistic from the decrypted data.

2. The method of claim 1 , comprising initiating, via a user interaction with a user interface displayed in the display region of the browser, the request to access the network application.

3. The method of claim 1 , comprising determining, responsive to the request, whether the request is initiated via the browser of the client application.

4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising permitting the client application to establish the secure session responsive to determining that the request is initiated via the browser of the client application.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising terminating, by the client application, one end of the secure session.

6. The method of claim 1 , comprising rendering at least a portion of the decrypted data in the display portion of the browser.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data of the network application includes data for rendering at least a graphical element or an audio element of the network application.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising applying, by the client application, at least one policy on the decrypted data.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising controlling an operation or functionality associated with the network application in accordance with the at least one policy.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the browser comprises program code integrated into the client application, or a plugin installed with the client application.

11. A system for monitoring data of a network application, the system comprising:

a client device having processor circuitry;

a browser embedded into a client application, the browser configured to initiate a request to access a network application hosted on a server, and to render data of the network application in a display portion of the browser; and

the client application, executing on the processor circuitry of the client device, the client application configured to:

establish, responsive to the request, a secure session to communicate the data from the network application, via the client application, to the browser to render in the display region of the browser; and

decrypt the data communicated via the established secure session to monitor the network application, wherein to monitor the network application includes performing analysis on the decrypted data from the network application by determining a statistic from the decrypted data.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the browser is configured to initiate, in response to a user interaction with a user interface displayed in the display region of the embedded browser, the request to access the network application.

13. The system of claim 11 , further comprising a network device having processor circuitry configured to determine, responsive to the request, whether the request is initiated via the browser of the client application.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the network device is further configured to permit the client application to establish the secure session responsive to determining that the request is initiated via the browser of the client application.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the client application is configured to terminate one end of the secure session.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the client application is configured to render at least a portion of the decrypted data in the display portion of the browser.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the data of the network application includes data for rendering at least a graphical element or an audio element of the network application.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the client application is further configured to apply at least one policy on the decrypted data.

19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the client application is further configured to control an operation or functionality associated with the network application in accordance with the at least one policy.

20. The system of claim 11 , wherein the browser comprises program code integrated into the client application, or a plugin installed with the client application.
