Placental tissue component compositions for treatment of skin defects and methods using same
The present disclosure provides methods of treating defects such as wrinkles or scars via a subdermal injection of placental tissue components. It also provides placental tissue compositions maintained within the barrel of a syringe, which may be for use in treating such defects.
1. A placental tissue composition in an injectable form, said placental tissue composition comprising an effective amount of placental tissue components; wherein the placental tissue components comprise particles of decellularized placental disc and at least one of amniotic membrane, chorionic membrane, and umbilical cord.
2. The composition of claim 1 , comprising particles of amniotic membrane.
3. The composition of claim 1 , comprising particles of chorionic membrane.
4. The composition of claim 1 , comprising particles of amniotic membrane and chorionic membrane.
5. The composition of claim 1 , comprising particles of umbilical cord.
6. The composition of claim 1 , comprising particles of amniotic membrane, chorionic membrane, and umbilical cord.
7. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the particles are rehydrated.
8. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said particles are micronized.
9. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the placental tissue components comprise about 1-20% dehydrated amniotic membrane and/or chorionic membrane particles if present, about 1-30% dehydrated umbilical cord particles if present, and about 50-98% dehydrated, decellularized placental disc particles, by weight.
10. The composition of claim 1 , for use in treating a scar or a wrinkle.
11. A method of treating a defect in a patient by injecting a placental tissue composition comprising placental tissue components at the site of the defect; wherein the placental tissue components comprise particles of decellularized placental disc and at least one of amniotic membrane, chorionic membrane, and umbilical cord.
12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises particles of amniotic membrane.
13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises particles of chorionic membrane.
14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises particles of amniotic membrane and chorionic membrane.
15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises particles of umbilical cord.
16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises particles of amniotic membrane, chorionic membrane, and umbilical cord.
17. The method of claim 11 , wherein the particles are rehydrated.
18. The method of claim 11 , wherein the particles are micronized.
19. The method of claim 11 , wherein the defect is selected from the group consisting of scars and wrinkles.
20. The method of claim 11 , wherein the placental tissue components comprise about 1-20% dehydrated amniotic membrane and/or chorionic membrane particles if present, about 1-30% dehydrated umbilical cord particles if present, and about 50-98% dehydrated, decellularized placental disc particles, by weight.
