Abstract

Methods and apparatus are described herein related to improving the sound quality of a bone conduction speaker. The sound quality of the bone conduction speaker is adjusted in the sound generation, sound transferring, and sound receiving of the bone conduction speaker by designing vibration generation manners and vibration transfer structures.

Claims (26)

1. A bone conduction speaker, comprising:

a vibration unit including a contact surface that is configured to contact and transmit vibration to a user, wherein:

the contact surface includes a gradient structure such that a force between the contact surface and the user is unevenly distributed on the contact surface; and

the contact surface at least includes a first contact area, the first contact area including a sound guiding hole, the sound guiding hole guiding an acoustic wave out of a housing of the bone conduction speaker to interfere with a leaked acoustic wave formed by a vibration of the housing.

2. The bone conduction speaker method of claim 1 , wherein the force distribution on the contact surface causes different frequency response curves for each point on the contact surface.

3. The bone conduction speaker of claim 2 , wherein a frequency response curve of the contact surface is a superposition of frequency response curves of the each point on the contact surface.

4. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure includes at least one convex portion.

5. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure includes at least one concave portion.

6. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure is located at a center or an edge of the contact surface.

7. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure is set on one side of the contact surface which is opposite to the user.

8. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the force on the contact surface is between a first threshold and a second threshold, transmission of a low frequency vibration between the contact surface and the user when the force is at the first threshold being better than transmission of the low frequency vibration between the contact surface and the user when the force is at the second threshold.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first threshold is 0.2N and the second threshold is 1.5N.

10. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the first contact area at least includes a portion not contacting with the user, the sound guiding hole being located at the portion not contacting with the user.

11. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the contact surface includes a second contact area, the second contact area protruding out of the first contact area.

12. The bone conduction speaker of claim 11 , wherein the sound guiding hole is above a cavity in the bone conduction speaker.

13. The bone conduction speaker of claim 12 , wherein a side surface of the housing of the bone conduction speaker includes at least another sound guiding hole, the at least another sound guiding hole also guiding the acoustic wave out of the housing of the bone conduction speaker to interfere with the leaked acoustic wave formed by the vibration of the housing.

14. The bone conduction speaker of claim 11 , wherein the second contact area is in contact with a panel.

15. The bone conduction speaker of claim 14 , wherein the panel supports the second contact area.

16. The bone conduction speaker of claim 14 , wherein an entire area of the second contact area is in contact with the panel.

17. The bone conduction speaker of claim 14 , wherein an area of the panel is smaller than an area of the second contact area.

18. The bone conduction speaker of claim 15 , wherein the second contact surface is provided by a vibration transfer layer of the vibration unit, the panel and the vibration transfer layer being at least partially joined by glue.

19. The bone conduction speaker of claim 18 , wherein the glue has a tensile strength that is not less than 1 MPa and a shear strength that is not less than 2 MPa.

20. A method for improving sound quality of a bone conduction speaker, comprising:

providing a bone conduction speaker, the bone conduction speaker including a vibration unit including a contact surface that is configured to contact and transmit vibration to a user, wherein:

the contact surface includes a gradient structure such that a force between the contact surface and the user is unevenly distributed on the contact surface; and

the contact surface at least includes a first contact area, the first contact area including a sound guiding hole, the sound guiding hole guiding an acoustic wave out of a housing of the bone conduction speaker to interfere with a leaked acoustic wave formed by a vibration of the housing.
