Abstract

Methods and apparatus are described herein related to improving the sound quality of a bone conduction speaker. The sound quality of the bone conduction speaker is adjusted in the sound generation, sound transferring, and sound receiving of the bone conduction speaker by designing vibration generation manners and vibration transfer structures.

Claims (28)

1. A bone conduction speaker, comprising:

a housing, a transducer, a first vibration conductive plate, and a contact side, wherein:

the first vibration conductive plate spans between walls of the housing and generates a first resonance peak;

the transducer connects to the housing through the first vibration conductive plate and generates at least another resonance peak; and

the contact side connects to the first vibration conductive plate through a connection portion, the contact side at least includes a contact surface, wherein the contact surface is configured to contact and transmit vibration to a user, the contact surface having a gradient structure such that a force between the contact surface and the user is unevenly distributed on the contact surface.

2. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the transducer includes at least one vibration board and a second vibration conductive plate.

3. The bone conduction speaker of claim 2 , wherein the first resonance peak and the at least another resonance peak are within a frequency range perceivable by human ears.

4. The bone conduction speaker of claim 2 , wherein the transducer includes at least one voice coil and at least one magnetic circuit, the at least one voice coil being connected to the vibration board, the at least one magnetic circuit being connected to the second vibration conductive plate.

5. The bone conduction speaker of claim 2 , wherein a stiffness coefficient of the vibration board is larger than a stiffness coefficient of the second vibration conductive plate.

6. The bone conduction speaker of claim 2 , wherein the second vibration conductive plate is an elastic plate.

7. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the bone conduction speaker further includes at least one contact surface, the contact surface being in contact with a user and transfers vibrations to the user.

8. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the first vibration conductive plate is an elastic plate, a thickness of the first vibration conductive plate being 0.005 mm-3 mm.

9. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein at least two first rods of the first vibration conductive plate converge to a center of the first vibration conductive plate.

10. The bone conduction speaker method of claim 1 , wherein the force distribution on the contact surface causes different frequency response curves for each point on the contact surface.

11. The bone conduction speaker of claim 10 , wherein a frequency response curve of the contact surface is a superposition of frequency response curves of the each point on the contact surface.

12. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure includes at least one convex portion.

13. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure includes at least one concave portion.

14. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure is located at a center or an edge of the contact surface.

15. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the gradient structure is set on one side of the contact surface which is opposite to the user.

16. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the force on the contact surface is larger than a first threshold and smaller than a second threshold, wherein transmission of a low frequency vibration between the contact surface and the user when the force is at the first threshold is better than transmission of the low frequency vibration between the contact surface and the user when the force is at the second threshold.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the first threshold is 0.2N and the second threshold is 1.5N.

18. The bone conduction speaker of claim 1 , wherein the contact side includes a panel and a vibration transfer layer covering the panel, the panel and the vibration transfer layer being at least partially joined by glue.

19. The bone conduction speaker of claim 18 , wherein the glue has a tensile strength that is not less than 1 MPa and a shear strength that is not less than 2 MPa.

20. A method for improving sound quality of a bone conduction speaker, comprising:

providing a bone conduction speaker, the bone conduction speaker including a housing, a transducer, a first vibration conductive plate, and a contact side, wherein:

the first vibration conductive plate spans between walls of the housing and generates a first resonance peak;

the transducer connects to the housing through the first vibration conductive plate and generates at least another resonance peak; and

the contact side connects to the first vibration conductive plate through a connection portion, the contact side at least includes a contact surface, wherein the contact surface is configured to contact and transmit vibration to a user, the contact surface having a gradient structure such that a force between the contact surface and the user is unevenly distributed on the contact surface.
