Abstract

A system includes a smart table that defines a plurality of player positions and that includes a plurality of wireless sensors. Each wireless sensor is associated with a respective player position of the plurality of player positions. The system is configured to determine, using a wireless sensor of the plurality of wireless sensors, that the mobile computing device is located proximate a wireless sensor of the plurality of wireless sensors. The system is further configured to control the wireless sensor to establish a wireless connection between the wireless sensor and the mobile computing device, and receive, from the mobile computing device, via the wireless connection, a player identifier. In addition, the system is configured to determine the respective player position associated with the wireless sensor, in response to determining the respective player position and based on the player identifier, associate the player with the respective player position within a table management database.

Claims (65)

1. A system comprising:

a smart table for providing a wagering game to one or more players, the smart table defining a plurality of player positions, the smart table including a table management device operable by a dealer and a plurality of wireless sensors, each wireless sensor associated with a respective player position of the plurality of player positions, each wireless sensor configured to detect a mobile computing device of a player;

a memory device; and

at least one processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory device, which when executed, cause the processor to at least:

determine, using a wireless sensor of the plurality of wireless sensors, that the mobile computing device is located proximate a wireless sensor of the plurality of wireless sensors;

control the wireless sensor to establish a wireless connection between the wireless sensor and the mobile computing device;

receive, from the mobile computing device, via the wireless connection, a player identifier;

determine the respective player position associated with the wireless sensor; and

in response to determining the respective player position and based on the player identifier, associate the player with the respective player position within a table management database.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to receive, from the mobile computing device, a connection code associated with the wireless sensor.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

determine that the mobile computing device is located proximate the wireless sensor based on the connection code; and

determine an identity of the player to associate the player with the respective player position based on the player identifier.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the wireless sensor is one of a near field communication (NFC) device, a Bluetooth device, a WiFi device, or another contactless sensing device.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

receive, from the mobile computing device, an identifier associated with the respective player position, wherein the mobile computing device acquires the identifier from an encoded image displayed proximate the respective player position; and

in response to receiving the identifier, determine the respective player position.

6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the encoded image is a quick response (QR) code provided on the smart table proximate the respective player position.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

control the table management device to display an image of the player; and

receive, from the dealer, confirmation that the image of the player displayed by the table management device corresponds to the player seated at the respective player position.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

transmit a request for a custom beacon identifier (ID) to a management server in response to determining that the mobile computing device is located proximate the wireless sensor;

receive, from the management server, the custom beacon ID;

control the wireless sensor to broadcast the custom beacon ID;

receive, from the management server, a pairing authorization message that authorizes pairing with the mobile computing device, wherein the pairing authorization message is generated at least partially in response to the management server receiving the custom beacon ID from the mobile computing device; and

pair with the mobile computing device in response to receiving the pairing authorization message.

9. A method for player positioning at a smart table, the method performed by a computing device including at least one processor, the smart table defining a plurality of player positions, the smart table including a table management device operable by a dealer and a plurality of wireless sensors, each wireless sensor associated with a respective player position of the plurality of player positions, each wireless sensor configured to detect a mobile computing device of a player, the method comprising:

determining that the mobile computing device is located proximate a wireless sensor of the plurality of wireless sensors;

communicating with the mobile computing device via a wireless connection between the mobile computing device and the wireless sensor;

obtaining a player identifier using the wireless connection;

identifying the respective player position associated with the wireless sensor;

pairing the player with the respective player position; and

transmitting the pairing of the player and the respective player position to a table management database for storage by the table management database.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising receiving a connection code associated with the wireless sensor.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

determining that the mobile computing device is located proximate the wireless sensor based on the connection code; and

determining an identity of the player to associate the player with the respective player position based on the player identifier.

12. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

receiving an identifier associated with the respective player position, where the mobile computing device acquires the identifier from an encoded image displayed proximate the respective player position; and

in response to receiving the identifier, determining the respective player position.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the encoded image is a quick response (QR) code provided on the smart table proximate the respective player position, the method further comprising receiving the encoded image.

14. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

controlling the table management device to display an image of the player; and

receiving confirmation that the image of the player displayed by the table management device corresponds to the player seated at the respective player position.

15. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

transmitting a request for a custom beacon identifier (ID) to a management server in response to determining that the mobile computing device is located proximate the wireless sensor;

receiving the custom beacon ID;

controlling the wireless sensor to broadcast the custom beacon ID;

receiving a pairing authorization message that authorizes pairing with the mobile computing device, wherein the pairing authorization message is generated at least partially in response to the management server receiving the custom beacon ID from the mobile computing device; and

pairing with the mobile computing device in response to receiving the pairing authorization message.

16. A tangible, non-transitory, computer readable storage medium including computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor in communication with at least one memory device, cause the processor to at least:

detect that a computing device of a player is located near a wireless sensor of a plurality of wireless sensors included in a smart table, the smart table defining a plurality of player positions, each wireless sensor associated with a respective player position of the plurality of player positions;

facilitate a wireless connection between the wireless sensor and the computing device, the computing device providing a player identifier via the wireless connection; and

in response to receiving the player identifier via the wireless connection, assign the player to a respective player position associated with the wireless sensor.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to receive, from the computing device, a connection code associated with the wireless sensor.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

determine that the computing device is located near the wireless sensor based on the connection code; and

determine an identity of the player to associate the player with the respective player position based on the player identifier.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:

receive, from the computing device, an identifier associated with the respective player position, wherein the computing device acquires the identifier from an encoded image displayed proximate the respective player position; and

in response to receiving the identifier, determine the respective player position.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:
