Abstract

A user equipment detects that an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the UE exceeds a threshold. In response to the detecting, a power of at least one of a plurality of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)-based uplink transmissions of the UE over corresponding wireless connections with respective wireless access network nodes is adjusted.

1. A method of a user equipment (UE), comprising:

detecting that an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the UE exceeds a threshold; and

in response to the detecting, adjusting a power of at least one uplink transmission of a plurality of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)-based uplink transmissions of the UE over corresponding wireless connections with respective wireless access network nodes;

wherein the adjusting:

comprises reducing the power of the at least one uplink transmission or dropping the at least one uplink transmission,

is according to at least one prioritization rule specifying that a first uplink transmission comprising a first uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission containing acknowledgement information has a higher priority than a second uplink transmission comprising a second uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission without acknowledgement information, wherein the first and second uplink transmissions are time misaligned;

wherein:

when the second uplink transmission is transmitted earlier than the first uplink transmission, the adjusting is performed over a part of a full transmission time period of the second uplink transmission, wherein the part is an overlapping time region between the first and second uplink transmissions, and

when the first uplink transmission is transmitted earlier than the second uplink transmission and the first and second uplink transmissions are time misaligned and overlap in time, the adjusting is performed over the full transmission time period of the second uplink transmission.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least two of the wireless access network nodes have respective separate schedulers.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein a first wireless access network node of the wireless access network nodes provides carrier aggregation having component carriers, the method comprising:

concurrent uplink transmissions including plural uplink transmissions over wireless connections with the component carriers of the first wireless access network node.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein a second wireless access network node of the wireless access network nodes does not support carrier aggregation.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the concurrent uplink transmissions further include one or more further uplink transmissions over one or more wireless connections with the second wireless access network node.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the concurrent uplink transmissions comprise the plurality of FDM-based uplink transmissions.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aggregate of the calculated uplink transmit power of the UE comprises an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the plurality of FDM-based uplink transmissions of the UE over the corresponding wireless connections with the respective wireless access network nodes.

8. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

a communication component to communicate wirelessly with wireless access network nodes; and

at least one processor configured to:

detect that an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the UE exceeds a threshold; and

in response to the detecting, adjust a power of at least one uplink transmission of a plurality of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)-based uplink transmissions of the UE over corresponding wireless connections with the wireless access network nodes;

wherein the adjusting:

comprises reducing the power of the at least one uplink transmission or dropping the at least one uplink transmission,

is according to at least one prioritization rule specifying that a first uplink transmission comprising a first uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission containing acknowledgement information has a higher priority than a second uplink transmission comprising a second uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission without acknowledgement information, wherein the first and second uplink transmissions are time misaligned;

wherein:

when the second uplink transmission is transmitted earlier than the first uplink transmission, the adjusting is performed over a part of a full transmission time period of the second uplink transmission, wherein the part is an overlapping time region between the first and second uplink transmissions, and

when the first uplink transmission is transmitted earlier than the second uplink transmission and the first and second uplink transmissions are time misaligned and overlap in time, the adjusting is performed over the full transmission time period of the second uplink transmission.

9. The UE of claim 8 , wherein at least two of the wireless access network nodes have respective separate schedulers.

10. The UE of claim 8 , wherein a first wireless access network node of the wireless access network nodes provides carrier aggregation having component carriers, and wherein the plurality of FDM-based uplink transmissions comprise concurrent uplink transmissions including plural uplink transmissions over wireless connections with the component carriers of the first wireless access network node.

11. The UE of claim 10 , wherein a second wireless access network node of the wireless access network nodes does not support carrier aggregation.

12. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the concurrent uplink transmissions further include one or more further uplink transmissions over one or more wireless connections with the second wireless access network node.

13. The UE of claim 8 , wherein the aggregate of the calculated uplink transmit power of the UE comprises an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the plurality of FDM-based uplink transmissions of the UE over the corresponding wireless connections with the wireless access network nodes.

14. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that upon execution cause a user equipment (UE) to:

detect that an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the UE exceeds a threshold; and

in response to the detecting, adjust a power of at least one uplink transmission of a plurality of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)-based uplink transmissions of the UE over corresponding wireless connections with respective wireless access network nodes;

wherein the adjusting:

comprises reducing the power of the at least one uplink transmission or dropping the at least one uplink transmission,

is according to at least one prioritization rule specifying that a first uplink transmission comprising a first uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission containing acknowledgement information has a higher priority than a second uplink transmission comprising a second uplink control channel transmission or traffic channel transmission without acknowledgement information, wherein the first and second uplink transmissions are time misaligned;

wherein:

when the second uplink transmission is transmitted earlier than the first uplink transmission, the adjusting is performed over a part of a full transmission time period of the second uplink transmission, wherein the part is an overlapping time region between the first and second uplink transmissions, and
