Abstract

A method, apparatus, and system of selective advertising includes a gaming server to receive a request to play a game of chance from a gaming device, transmit gaming data to the gaming device, the gaming data associated with the requested game of chance, and receive player data, the player data associated with the player's eye movement, gestures, or change in state. The server may also be configured to analyze the player data, determine a context associated with the player data; and initiate an action based on the determined context.

Claims (30)

1 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising machine readable instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

collect physiological player data from a player interface unit of an electronic gaming machine when a player touches the player interface unit,

the player interface unit being configured to receive player input from the player for control of a game conducted by the gaming machine, or receive player input from the player for control of a payment mechanism of the gaming machine.

2 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the machine readable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to collect the physiological player data from the player interface unit when the player touches the player interface unit to control the game or the payment mechanism.

3 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the player interface unit comprises a button, a joystick, a trackball, or a wheel.

4 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the data capture unit comprises a conductivity sensor, a resistivity sensor, a potential Hydrogen (pH) level sensor, or a salinity sensor.

5 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the physiological player data is representative of a physiological characteristic of the player.

6 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the physiological characteristic comprises a temperature, an oxygen level, or a heart rate.

7 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising machine readable instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine an advertising preference of the player based on the physiological player data.

8 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , further comprising machine readable instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to select, based on the advertising preference, a particular advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the advertising preference of the player.

9 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , further comprising machine readable instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display unit to display graphical information of the game in accordance with a set of game rules for the game; and

modify the graphical information of the game to display the particular advertisement.

10 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , further comprising the plurality of available advertisements.

11 . A gaming system, comprising:

an electronic gaming machine, comprising:

a payment mechanism configured to provide payment to a player based on a game conducted by the electronic gaming machine,

a player interface unit configured to receive player input from the player for control of the game or control of the payment mechanism, and

a data capture unit configured to collect physiological player data from the player interface unit.

12 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the data capture unit is configured to collect the physiological player data from the player interface unit when the player touches the player interface unit to control the game or control the payment mechanism.

13 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the player interface unit comprises a button, a joystick, a trackball, or a wheel.

14 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the data capture unit comprises a conductivity sensor, a resistivity sensor, a potential Hydrogen (pH) level sensor, or a salinity sensor.

15 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the physiological player data is representative of a physiological characteristic of the player.

16 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the physiological characteristic comprises a temperature, an oxygen level, or a heart rate.

17 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the electronic gaming machine further comprises a processing unit configured to determine an advertising preference of the player based on the physiological player data.

18 . The gaming system of claim 17 , wherein the processing unit is further configured to select, based on the advertising preference, a particular advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the advertising preference of the player.

19 . The gaming system of claim 18 , wherein the processing unit is further configured to:

cause a display unit to display graphical information of the game in accordance with a set of game rules for the game, and

modify the graphical information of the game to display the particular advertisement.

20 . The gaming system of claim 18 , wherein the electronic gaming machine further comprises a data storage unit configured to store the plurality of available advertisements.
