METHODS AND DEVICES FOR DISTRIBUTING CONTENT TO AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Methods and devices for distributing and receiving content are provided. In one example aspect, a method comprises: receiving a command on a first electronic device to output content at an output device associated with a second electronic device; and in response to receiving the command to output content at the output device associated with the second electronic device: providing content access information from the first electronic device to the second electronic device, and adjusting a security state on the second electronic device.
1 . A method enabling rendering of content on a second electronic device, the method comprising:
establishing a trusted relationship, the trusted relationship comprising information for identifying at least the second electronic device at a first electronic device;
receiving, from the first electronic device, content access information at the second device;
outputting content, identified by the content access information, by an output device associated with the second electronic device; and
wherein the first electronic device is different from the second electronic device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the output device comprises one or more speakers.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the output device comprises one or more displays.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises one or more of an audio file, a video file, a text file, a document or a multimedia file.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content is in a form or one or more files.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second electronic device is selected from the group consisting of a tablet computer, a notebook computer, a laptop computer, a netbook style computer, a mobile communication device, wearable electronic device, and a television, and an audio based output device.
7 . An electronic device comprising:
a communication subsystem for communicating with a different electronic device;
one or more processors; and
a memory containing processor readable instructions for causing the one or more processors to:
establish a trusted relationship, the trusted relationship comprising information for identifying at least the electronic device at the different electronic device; and
receive, from the different electronic device, content access information; and
output content, identified by the content access information, by an output device associated with the electronic device.
8 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the output device comprises one or more speakers.
9 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the output device comprises one or more displays.
10 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the content comprises one or more of an audio file, a video file, a text file, a document or a multimedia file.
11 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the content is in the form or one or more files.
12 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the electronic device is selected from the group consisting of a tablet computer, a notebook computer, a laptop computer, a netbook style computer, a mobile communication device, wearable electronic device, a television, and an audio based output device.
13 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium at an electronic device comprising processor-executable instructions which, when executed, configure one or more processors to:
establish a trusted relationship, the trusted relationship comprising information for identifying at least the electronic device at a different electronic device;
receive, from the different electronic device, content access information; and
output content, identified by the content access information, by an output device associated with the electronic device.
14 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the output device comprises one or more speakers.
