Abstract

Yellow and magenta donor formulations that produce higher quality prints with fewer defects. The yellow and magenta formulas can be combined to form a red color representation with higher vividness and gamut.

Claims (40)

1 . A yellow donor, comprising:

a first yellow dye;

a second yellow dye; and

a third yellow dye;

wherein the first yellow dye comprises a structure of:

the second yellow dye comprises a structure of:

and the third yellow dye comprises a structure of:

2 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , further comprising:

a solvent mixture comprising a composition of toluene, methanol, and cyclopentanone.

3 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , further comprising:

a cellulose acetate propionate.

4 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , wherein the yellow donor is applied as a single laydown onto a print medium.

5 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , further comprising:

a plasticizer.

6 . The yellow donor of claim 5 , wherein the plasticizer is Paraplex G-25.

7 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , further comprising:

spacer beads.

8 . The yellow donor of claim 7 , wherein the spacer beads comprise resin particles.

9 . The yellow donor of claim 1 , wherein a red color representation comprises a combination of the yellow donor and a magenta donor, and wherein the magenta donor has a vividness of up to 88 linear CIELAB units and a hue sector gamut of up to 185,738 cubic CIELAB units and the red color representation has a vividness of up to 91 linear CIELAB units.

10 . The yellow donor of claim 9 , wherein the red color representation is provided as colored material to a receiver element for deposition onto a surface.

11 . A magenta donor, comprising:

a first magenta dye;

a second magenta dye; and

a third magenta dye;

wherein the first magenta dye comprises a structure of:

the second magenta dye comprises a structure of:

and the third magenta dye comprises a structure of:

12 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , further comprising:

a solvent mixture comprising a composition of toluene, methanol, and cyclopentanone.

13 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , further comprising:

a cellulose acetate propionate.

14 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , wherein the magenta donor is applied as a single laydown onto a print medium.

15 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , further comprising:

a plasticizer.

16 . The magenta donor of claim 15 , wherein the plasticizer is Paraplex G-25.

17 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , further comprising:

spacer beads.

18 . The magenta donor of claim 17 , wherein the spacer beads comprise resin particles.

19 . The magenta donor of claim 11 , wherein a red color representation comprises a combination of a yellow donor and the magenta donor, and wherein the magenta donor has a vividness of up to 88 linear CIELAB units and a hue sector gamut of up to 185,738 cubic CIELAB units and the red color representation has a vividness of up to 91 linear CIELAB units.

20 . The magenta donor of claim 19 , wherein the red color representation is provided as colored material to a receiver element for deposition onto a surface.
