Abstract

The improvement of the power supply system to one of the electrodes comprising a pixel prevents said electrode from corrosion, which allows image to be displayed with high quality. A display module is provided, which module comprises an emitting device provided with a first electrode layer that is driven by an active device, an organic emitting layer that is coated on said first electrode layer and a second electrode layer CD that is formed over said organic emitting layer, wherein an electrode layer CNTB is provided on the substrate thereof lower than said second electrode layer CD and is coated with an insulating or passivation film, said electrode layer CNTB being in contact with said second electrode layer CD through a contact hole CNT.

Claims (15)

1. A display module, comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines and a plurality of current supply lines each of which intersects the plurality of scanning lines, provided in a sealing area formed on the substrate respectively; and

a plurality of pixels forming a display section in the sealing area on the substrate, each of which pixels has a pixel circuit including a first active element activated in accordance with a scanning signal supplied from one of the plurality of scanning lines to acquire a data signal supplied from one of the plurality of data lines, a data holding element for holding the data signal acquired by the first active element, a light emitting device, and a second active element activated in accordance with the data signal held by the data holding element to supply a current from one of the plurality of current supply line to enable the light emitting device to emit light, wherein:

the light emitting device includes a first electrode layer coupled to receive the current from the second active element, an organic light emitting layer formed on the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer formed on the organic light emitting layer,

the plurality of current supply lines am formed on a plurality of insulating films provided in the pixel circuit and covered with a passivation film formed below the second electrode layer,

a second electrode connection layer electrically connected to the second electrode layer, and a current supply bus layer electrically connected to the plurality of current supply lines, are formed on the plurality of insulating films and below the passivation film in a periphery of the sealing area along one side of the substrate, where the current supply bus layer Is arranged between the second electrode connection layer and the display section,

the second electrode connection layer is electrically connected to a first terminal pad formed outside the display section on a periphery of the substrate along the one side thereof,

the current supply bus layer is electrically connected to a second terminal pad formed outside the display section on a periphery of the substrate, and

the second electrode layer and the second electrode connection layer are electrically connected by a plurality of contact holes formed through the passivation film.

2. The display module according to claim 1 , wherein:

a gate driving circuit supplying a voltage which activates the first active element to the plurality of scanning lines and a data driving circuit supplying data signals to the plurality of data lines, are provided outside the display section in the sealing area on the substrate, and

a third terminal pad connecting an external circuit to the gate driving circuit and a fourth terminal pad connecting an external circuit to the data driving circuit are provided outside the sealing area on another periphery of the substrate along another side of the substrate different from the one side thereof.

3. The display module according to claim 2 , wherein the one side of the substrate is opposite to the another side of the substrate across the display section.

4. The display module according to claim 1 , wherein the second electrode connection layer is formed to be extended along the current supply bus layer in the sealing area along the one side of the substrate.
