Abstract

The compounds of formula 1, wherein R and R 2 are as defined in the disclosure, are useful in the prevention and treatment of tissue damage due to exacerbated recruitment of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN leukocytes) at the inflammatory sites.

Claims (1)

1. A method for inhibiting the chemotaxis and degranulation of neutrophils induced by interleukin 8 in a mammal, comprising the step of administering R(−)-2-[(4-Isobutyl)phenyl]propionamide to said mammal.
