Abstract

In a latch circuit having a bistable pair of cross connected transistors of a first polarity and a third transistor of a second polarity, a current signal greater than a bias current is received at a latch circuit port, amplified with the third transistor, and applied to the latch circuit port. This decreases the time in which the latch circuit port receiving the current signal greater than the bias current reaches a steady state voltage.

Claims (8)

1. A latch circuit, comprising:

a bistable pair of transistors with both transistors connected directly between a reset switch and a node, and having a first port for receiving a first current signal and producing a first output voltage, and a second port for receiving a second current signal and producing a second output voltage; and

a vertical latch including a first transistor and a second transistor, each of said first transistor and said second transistor having a control terminal, a first non-control terminal, and a second non-control terminal, said control terminal of said first transistor connected directly to said first non-control terminal of said second transistor at said first port, said control terminal of said second transistor connected directly to said first non-control terminal of said first transistor, and said second non-control terminal of said first transistor connected directly to said node, wherein said first transistor is a first type, said second transistor is a second type, and said first type is different from said second type.

2. The latch circuit of claim 1 , wherein said first transistor is a MOSFET.

3. The latch circuit of claim 1 , wherein said reset switch is a microelectromechanical reset switch.

4. The latch circuit of claim 1 , wherein said vertical latch is for decreasing the time necessary for said first port to reach a steady state voltage in response to said first current signal received.

5. The latch circuit of claim 1 , further comprising a vertical latch reset switch connected to said vertical latch.

6. The latch circuit of claim 1 , further comprising a second vertical latch connected to said node and to said second port.
