Abstract

An epoxy resin represented by general formula (2), wherein R 1 -R 4 indicate a hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, n is 0 or integer of 1 or more and X is a bond or the following general formula wherein R 5 -R 6 indicate a hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, obtained by reacting an aromatic compound represented by general formula (1) and epihalohydrine, wherein R 1 -R 4 and X are as identified herein, having molecular weight distribution comprising, content of n=0 component in the epoxy resin represented by general formula (2) is 60% or less and epoxy equivalent is 250 g/eq or over.

Claims (7)

1. A non-crystalline epoxy resin represented by general formula (2),

wherein R 1 -R 4 indicate a hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, n is 0 or an integer of 1 or more and X is a bond or the following general formula

wherein R 5 -R 6 indicate a hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, obtained by reacting liquid epoxy resin and an aromatic compound represented by general formula (1),

wherein R 1 -R 4 and X are as identified herein, having molecular weight distribution comprising, content of n=0 component in the epoxy resin represented by general formula (2) is 60% or less and epoxy equivalent is 250 g/eq or over.

2. The epoxy resin of claim 1 , wherein aromatic compound represented by general formula (1) according to claim 1 , is 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-4,4′-dihydroxyldiphenyl methane.

3. A coated product prepared by coating the epoxy resin composition of claim 1 on the surface of an object and curing the coating.

4. A coated product prepared by coating the epoxy resin composition of claim 2 on the surface of an object and curing the coating.
