Abstract

A method for screening compounds for antimicrobial activity is described that utilizes bacterial protein-protein binding in vitro. The method may be performed using immobilized elements and the immobilization may be carried out using a variety of immobilization means (e.g., columns, beads, adsorbents, nitrocellulose paper, etc.) in order to screen large libraries of compounds.

Claims (6)

1. A purified oligonucleotide, comprising a sequence that encodes amino acid 39 through amino acid 328 of SEQ ID NO:2, or the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:2.

2. The purified oligonucleotide of claim 1 , said oligonucleotide having the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.

3. The purified oligonucleotide of claim 2 in an expression vector.

4. A purified oligonucleotide comprising a sequence that encodes amino acid 39 through amino acid 328 of SEQ ID NO:2.

5. The purified oligonucleotide of claim 4 , wherein the oligonucleotide encodes the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:2.

6. The purified oligonucleotide of claim 4 in an expression vector.
