Filtration module including unitary filter cartridge-bowl construction
View Patent ↗A filtration module is provided which includes a manifold ( 100 ), a filtration cartridge ( 104 ) and a bowl ( 102 ) that houses the filter cartridge. The filtration cartridge and bowl are connected to each other to form a unitary construction. The filtration cartridge and bowl are in fluid communication with the manifold in a manner which prevents mixing of a fluid feed to the module and a permeate removed from the module.
1. A disposable filtration module comprising a cartridge, a bowl and a collar removably attached to said cartridge, said cartridge adapted to removably interlock, via said collar, with said bowl having an inner surface with at least one slot formed on said inner surface, said cartridge comprising a filter and a housing for said filter, wherein said collar comprises at least one flange, a pair of hook elements and a hinge between the hook elements allowing the removable collar to removably attach to and fit about the periphery of said cartridge, said at least one flange being received by said at least one slot to secure said cartridge within said bowl.
2. The disposable filtration module of claim 1 , wherein said at least one flange is keyed to be snap fit into said slot to interlock said cartridge with said bowl.
3. The disposable filtration module of claim 1 , wherein said at least one flange is keyed to be interference fit into said slot to interlock said cartridge with said bowl.
4. The disposable filtration module of 1 wherein said flange comprises a lug extending therefrom.
5. The disposable filtration module of claim 4 , wherein said lug has an oval cross-section.
6. The disposable filtration module of claim 4 , wherein said lug has an elliptical cross-section.

The disposable filtration module of claim 1 , wherein said at least one slot is defined by a shoulder and an end, and wherein upon locating said flange in said slot, said flange contacts said shoulder, and upon rotating said cartridge, said flange becomes engaged between said shoulder and said end.
8. The disposable filtration module of claim 1 , wherein said bowl inner surface has two slots and wherein said collar has two flanges.
