1. A tumor suppressor reactivator compound of a formula
wherein R 1 is H; R 2 is selected from phenyl and substituted phenyl moieties; X is selected from hydroxymethyl and acetoxymethyl; and Y is acetoxymethyl; and salts thereof.
2. The compound of claim 1 wherein R 2 is phenyl.
3. The compound of claim 2 wherein said phenyl moiety is halo-substituted.
4. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is acetoxymethyl.
5. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is hydroxymethyl.
6. The compound of claim 5 selected from the (R)-enantiomer, the (S)-enantiomer and a racemic mixture thereof.
7. The compound of claim 1 wherein said compound is an ammonium salt and the counter ion is the conjugate base of a protic acid.
