57 . The dietary supplement according to claim 41 , wherein the dietary supplement is provided in solid or liquid form.
58 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising an oral dosage form containing a preselected amount of a nonapeptide having the amino acid sequence Val-Glu-Ser-Tyr-Val-Pro-Leu-Phe-Pro (SEQ ID NO: 1) in combination with a physiologically acceptable carrier.
59 . The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 58 , wherein the nonapeptide is derived from a non-ovine source.
60 . The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 58 , in a form suitable for absorption through the mucosa of the oral/nasopharyngeal cavity and/or in a form suitable for absorption in the alimentary canal.
61 . The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 58 , in the form of a tablet, lozenge, gel, patch or plaster.
62 . The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 58 , comprising 25 to 1000 micrograms of the nonapeptide.
63 . The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 58 , comprising 50 to 100 micrograms of the nonapeptide.
64 . A dietary supplement comprising an oral dosage form containing a nonapeptide having the amino acid sequence Val-Glu-Ser-Tyr-Val-Pro-Leu-Phe-Pro (SEQ ID NO: 1), in isolated form, formulated in combination with a physiologically acceptable carrier.
