Motor vehicle operating data collection and analysis
A method and apparatus for collecting, uploading and evaluating motor vehicle operation utilizing on-board diagnostic components (OBDII) and ground positioning satellite (GPS) systems whereby operator identifiable behavior can be rated for driving safety and other characteristics.
1 . A method of monitoring behavior comprising recording time and location marked data of vehicle operation at regular intervals.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring is of a vehicle operator of a specified age.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring comprises pertaining to a government requirement.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring comprises pertaining to a vehicle rental agreement.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring comprises pertaining to a contract.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring comprises pertaining to an employment requirement.
7 . The method of claim 1 wherein the data is correlated to at least one other database.
8 . A database comprising time marked vehicle operation data recorded at regular intervals that can be correlated to at least one other data point.
9 . The database of claim 8 comprising data for a plurality of vehicles.
10 . The database of claim 8 comprising data for a plurality of drivers.
11 . The database of claim 8 comprising data for a plurality of trips.
12 . The database of claim 8 comprising data pertaining to an agreement.
13 . The database of claim 8 used for teaching.
14 . The database of claim 8 used for monitoring behavior.
15 . The database of claim 8 used for rating at least one driver.
16 . The database of claim 8 used for predicting likely future events.
17 . The database of claim 8 further comprising location data.
18 . A method of creating a database of vehicle operation data comprising:
a. Recording data from a vehicle at regular time intervals; and
b. Time marking the recorded data.
19 . The method of claim 18 further comprising recording vehicle location data at the regular time intervals.
20 . The method of claim 18 further comprising recording data from a plurality of vehicles.
21 . The method of claim 18 further comprising recording data from a plurality of trips.
22 . The method of claim 18 further comprising recording data from a plurality of drivers.
23 . A method of evaluating at least one individual comprising evaluating a first database of time marked data recorded at regular intervals of vehicle operation and at least one other data point.
24 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for driver safety.
25 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for employment.
26 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for contracting.
27 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for credit lending.
28 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation comprises a credit rating.
29 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for teaching.
30 . The method of claim 23 wherein the evaluation is for behavior.

32 . An apparatus for recording and evaluating time marked vehicle operation data comprising:
a. A vehicle data acquiring component;
b. A time marker;
c. A recording device;
d. A database input component;
e. A processor; and
f. A data output component.
33 . The apparatus of claim 32 further comprising a location detecting component.
