(b) reacting the polydiene components of the copolymer with a fluorinating agent to form fluorinated polydiene components; and

(c) reacting the polystyrene component of the copolymer with a sulfonating agent to form a sulfonated polystyrene component;

thereby forming an ABA triblock copolymer wherein each of the A blocks comprises a fluorinated polydiene and the B block comprises a sulfonated polystyrene.

7. A method for forming a copolymer comprising a fluorinated polydiene and a sulfonated polystyrene, the method comprising:

(a) providing a graft copolymer comprising a polydiene backbone and a plurality of grafted polystyrene side chains;

(b) reacting the polydiene backbone of the graft copolymer with a fluorinating agent to form a fluorinated polydiene backbone; and

(c) reacting the polystyrene side chains of the graft copolymer with a sulfonating agent to form sulfonated polystyrene side chains;

thereby forming an graft copolymer comprising a fluorinated polydiene and a sulfonated polystyrene.
