Abstract

Methods and compositions for modulating glucose transport are provided herein.

Claims (4)

1. A method for increasing insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in a cell in vitro, the method comprising:

administering to the cell an inhibitory RNA that decreases expression or activity of Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 4 (Map4k4) in an amount sufficient to increase insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in the cell, thereby increasing insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in the cell.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the Map4k4 is human Map4k4.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell is an adipocyte.
