Abstract

The present invention relates to antibody molecules, in particular antibody molecules that bind Transforming Growth Factor beta (TGFβ), and uses thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to antibody molecules that bind and preferably neutralize TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3, so-called “pan-specific” antibody molecules, and uses of such antibody molecules. Preferred embodiments within the present invention are antibody molecules, whether whole antibody (e.g. IgG, such as IgG1 or IgG4) or antibody fragments (e.g. scFv, Fab, dAb).

Claims (14)

1. An isolated antibody that binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3, comprising the PET1073G12 VH domain (SEQ ID NO: 2) and the PET1073G12 VL domain (SEQ ID NO: 7), or an isolated portion of said antibody, wherein said portion binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3.

2. The isolated antibody according to claim 1 further comprising a human IgG4 constant region.

3. A composition comprising said antibody or said portion of said antibody according to claim 1 .

4. The isolated antibody according to claim 1 further comprising a human IgG1 constant region.

5. An isolated single chain Fv molecule that binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3, comprising the PET1073G12 VH domain (SEQ ID NO: 2) and the PET1073G12 VL domain (SEQ ID NO: 7).

6. An isolated antibody that binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3, comprising the PET1073G12 VH domain (SEQ ID NO: 2), or an isolated portion of said antibody, wherein said portion binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3.

7. An isolated antibody that binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3, comprising the PET1073G12 VL domain (SEQ ID NO: 7), or an isolated portion of said antibody, wherein said portion binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3.

8. A composition comprising said antibody or said portion of said antibody according to claim 6 .

9. A composition comprising said antibody or said portion of said antibody according to claim 7 .

10. An isolated antibody that binds to human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3 comprising a heavy chain comprising the PET1073G12 VH domain (SEQ ID NO: 2) and a human IgG4 constant region, and a light chain comprising the PET1073G12 VL domain (SEQ ID NO: 7) and a human κ light chain constant region.

11. A composition comprising said antibody according to claim 10 .

12. The isolated antibody or portion according to claim 1 , 2 , 4 , 6 , or 7 , wherein the antibody or portion neutralizes human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3.

13. The isolate antibody according to claim 10 , wherein the antibody neutralizes human TGFβ1, TGFβ2, and TGFβ3.

14. The isolated single chain Fv molecule according to claim 5 , wherein the Fv molecule neutralizes human TGFβ1, TGFβ2 and TGFβ3.
