ATTACHABLE STRUCTURE FOR USE WITH HAND-HELD CONTROLLER HAVING TRACKING ABILITY
Some embodiments provide an apparatus for use with a system. The apparatus may include a controller having an ability to have its movements detected and tracked by the system, and a structure attached to the controller that is graspable by a user and which allows the user to move the controller around. The controller may be moved around in the air with the structure.
1 . An apparatus for use with a system, comprising:
a controller having an ability to have its movements detected and tracked by the system; and
a structure attached to the controller that is graspable by a user and which allows the user to move the controller around.
2 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure is removeably attached to the controller.
3 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller by way of one or more clamps.
4 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises a member with a handle.
5 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller in a generally perpendicular orientation.
6 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller in a generally in-line orientation.
7 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises a sword-like structure.
8 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises a tennis racket like structure.
9 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises a bat-like structure.
10 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises a body part.
11 . An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the controller includes one or more detectable elements.
12 . A method for use with a system, comprising the steps of:
attaching a structure to a controller for the system;
moving the controller around with the structure;
determining position information for the controller; and
providing input to the system based on the determined position information for the controller.
13 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure is removeably attached to the controller.
14 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller by way of one or more clamps.
15 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure comprises a member with a handle.
16 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller in a generally perpendicular orientation.
17 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure is attached to the controller in a generally in-line orientation.
18 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure comprises a sword-like structure.
19 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure comprises a tennis racket-like structure.
20 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure comprises a bat-like structure.
21 . A method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the structure comprises a body part.
