Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for controlling drilling parameters during an initial phase of rock drilling with a drilling machine. In accordance with the invention the percussion pressure and feed pressure of the drilling machine are controlled as continuously increasing functions during the initial phase. The present invention also relates to such a system.

Claims (20)

1. Method for controlling drilling parameters during a collaring phase of drilling in rock with a drilling machine, characterised in that the percussion and feed pressure of the drilling machine are controlled as continuously increasing functions during the entire time of the collaring phase.

2. Method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said control is represented by continuous functions of time with a gradually increasing derivative.

3. Method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said continuous functions consist of exponential functions.

4. Method as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the feed pressure is controlled on the basis of the rotation pressure.

5. Method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the feed pressure is controlled on the basis of the rotation pressure.

6. Method as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the percussion pressure is lowered when the feed pressure is or goes below a predetermined level.

7. Method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said continuous functions consist of exponential functions.

8. Method as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the feed pressure is controlled on the basis of the rotation pressure.

9. Method as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the percussion pressure is lowered when the feed pressure is or goes below a predetermined level.

10. Method as claimed claim 1 , wherein the feed pressure is controlled on the basis of the rotation pressure.

11. Method as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the percussion pressure is lowered when the feed pressure is or goes below a predetermined level.

System for controlling drilling parameters during a collaring phase of drilling in rock with a drilling machine, characterised in that the system controls the percussion pressure and feed pressure of the drilling machine as continuously increasing functions during the entire time of the collaring phase.

13. System as claimed in claim 12 , wherein said control is represented by continuous functions of time with gradually increasing derivative.

14. System according to claim 13 , wherein said continuous functions consist of exponential functions.

15. System according to claim 14 , wherein said system controls the feed pressure on the basis of the rotation pressure.

16. System according to claim 13 , wherein said system controls the feed pressure on the basis of the rotation pressure.

17. System according to claim 12 , wherein said continuous functions consist of exponential functions.

18. System according to claim 17 , wherein said system controls the feed pressure on the basis of the rotation pressure.

19. System according to claim 12 , wherein said system controls the feed pressure on the basis of the rotation pressure.

20. System according to claim 19 , wherein the system lowers the percussion pressure when the feed pressure is or goes below a predetermined level.
