m is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4;

R 2 is independently selected from halo, cyano, hydroxyl, (C 1-6 )alkyl (optionally substituted by halo, hydroxyl, amino, carboxy, or (C 1-6 )alkoxycarbonyl), (C 3-7 )cycloalkyl, C( 1-6 )alkoxy, amino, mono- or di-(C 1-6 )alkylamino, acylamino, carboxy, (C 1-6 )alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy(C 1-6 )alkyloxy, (C 1-6 )alkylthio, (C 1-6 )alkylsulphinyl, (C 1-6 )alkylsulphonyl, sulphamoyl, mono- and di-(C 1-6 )alkylsulphamoyl, carbamoyl, mono- and di-(C 1-6 )alkylcarbamoyl and heterocyclic; and

when Z 1 is S, Z 2 and Z 3 are CH; when Z 2 is S, Z 1 and Z 3 are CH; and when Z 3 is S, Z 1 and Z 2 are CH.

2. An optically active compound of claim 1 having the formula (III):

3. The optically active compound of claim 2 wherein (R 1 ) m is a 6, 8 substitution and can be the same or different substituents, wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of bromine, chlorine, iodine and sulfane.

4. An active compound of claim 1 having a formula (V):

5. The optically active compound of claim 4 wherein (R 1 ) m is a 5, 7 substitution and can be the same or different substituents, wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of bromine, chlorine, iodine and sulfane.

6. An optically active compound of claim 1 selected from the group consisting of:

5-[3-((R)(−)-5,7-Dibromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-1-ylamino)-propylamino]-4H-thieno[3,2-b]pyridine-7-one;
