Abstract

The present invention provides methods for inhibiting the growth of androgen-independent prostate cancer tumor cells in a human comprising administering to the human. The invention further provides pharmaceutical and nutraceutical compositions containing chroman-derived compounds useful in the alleviation of cancer.

Claims (6)

1. A method for inhibiting the growth of androgen-independent prostate cancer tumor cells in a human comprising administering to the human an effective amount of a compound having the structure:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

2. A method of delaying the progression of androgen-independent prostate cancer in a human comprising administering to the human an effective amount of a compound having the structure:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

3. A method of preventing the recurrence of androgen-independent prostate cancer in a human comprising administering to the human an effective amount of a compound having the structure:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
