CHEWABLE CAPSULES
The invention provides an orally administrable chewable capsule comprising a capsule shell enclosing an oil-in-water emulsion in which the aqueous phase is gelled, or an oil droplet-containing dried residue of such an emulsion.
1 . An orally administrable chewable capsule comprising a capsule shell enclosing an oil-in-water emulsion in which the aqueous phase is gelled, or an oil droplet-containing dried residue of such an emulsion.
2 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 wherein the oil phase of said emulsion comprises a physiologically tolerable triglyceride.
3 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 wherein the oil phase of said emulsion comprises a fish oil.
4 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 wherein said aqueous phase comprises a gelling agent selected from the group consisting of gelatin, polysaccharides, and mixtures thereof.
5 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 wherein said aqueous phase comprises gelatin and carageenan.
6 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 further comprising at least 1% wt. xylitol.
7 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a citrus flavor.
8 . The capsule as claimed in claim 1 wherein said aqueous phase comprises a water soluble vitamin.

10 . A method of treatment of a human by oral administration of an effective amount of an active agent comprising administering said active agent in a chewable capsule or composition according to claim 1 , wherein said active agent is in oil form or dissolved in an oil.
11 . The method as claimed in claim 10 wherein the active agent is an analgesic.
12 . The method as claimed in claim 10 wherein the active agent is a triglyceride.
