Deuterium-enriched pioglitazone
The present application describes deuterium-enriched pioglitazone, pharmaceutically acceptable salt forms thereof, and methods of treating using the same.

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R 1 and R 3 -R 20 are H.
2. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising: a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of claim 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
3. A compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is compound 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
4. A compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is compound 2 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
5. A compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is compound 3 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
6. A pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the compound is compound 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
7. A pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the compound is compound 2 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
8. A pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the compound is compound 3 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof.
