Abstract

The subject invention provides new fluorescent and/or colored proteins, and polynucleotide sequences that encode these proteins. The subject invention further provides materials and methods useful for expressing these detectable proteins in biological systems.

Claims (2)

1. An isolated protein comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:35, or an amino acid sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:35; wherein the protein is a fluorescent protein having an excitation maximum between 568 nm and 588 nm and an emission maximum between 585 nm and 605 nm.

2. The protein, according to claim 1 , wherein said protein comprises an amino acid sequence that is at least 99% identical to SEQ ID NO:35.
