Abstract

Salts of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide are prepared and characterized.

Claims (51)

1 . A salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

2 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a hydrochloride salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

3 . The salt of claim 2 , wherein the hydrochloride salt is a 1:1 hydrochloride salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

4 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

5 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is a 1:1 lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

6 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is a monohydrate lactate salt.

7 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is an anhydrous lactate salt.

8 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is a DL-lactate salt.

9 . The salt of claim 8 , wherein the DL-lactate salt is a monohydrate DL-lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

10 . The salt of claim 8 , wherein the DL-lactate salt is an anhydrous DL-lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

11 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is an L-lactate salt.

12 . The salt of claim 11 , wherein the L-lactate salt is an anhydrous L-(+)-lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

13 . The salt of claim 4 , wherein the lactate salt is a D-lactate salt.

14 . The salt of claim 13 , wherein the D-lactate salt is an anhydrous D-(−)-lactate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

15 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a maleate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

16 . The salt of claim 15 , wherein the maleate salt is a 1:1 maleate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

17 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a mesylate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

18 . The salt of claim 17 , wherein the mesylate salt is a 1:1 mesylate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

19 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a tartarate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

20 . The salt of claim 19 , wherein the tartarate salt is a 2:1 hemi-tartarate salt (hemi-tartrate) of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

21 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is an acetate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

22 . The salt of claim 21 , wherein the acetate salt is a 1:1 acetate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

23 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a benzoate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

24 . The salt of claim 23 , wherein the benzoate salt is a 1:1 benzoate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

25 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a citrate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

26 . The salt of claim 25 , wherein the citrate salt is a 2:1 hemi-citrate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

27 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a fumarate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

28 . The salt of claim 27 , wherein the fumarate salt is a 2:1 hemi-fumarate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

29 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a gentisate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

30 . The salt of claim 29 , wherein the gentisate salt is a 1:1 gentisate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

31 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a malate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3′-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

32 . The salt of claim 31 , wherein the malate salt is a 2:1 hemi-malate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

33 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a malonate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

34 . The salt of claim 33 , wherein the malonate salt is a 2:1 hemi-malonate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

35 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is an oxalate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

36 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a phosphate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

37 . The salt of claim 36 , wherein the phosphate salt is a 1:1 phosphate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

38 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a propionate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

39 . The salt of claim 38 , wherein the propionate salt is a 1:1 propionate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

40 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a sulfate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

41 . The salt of claim 40 , wherein the sulfate salt is a 1:1 sulfate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

42 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a succinate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

43 . The salt of claim 42 , wherein the succinate salt is a 2:1 hemi-succinate salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

44 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a sodium salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

45 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a potassium salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

46 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a calcium salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

47 . The salt of claim 1 , wherein the salt is a zinc salt of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide.

48 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising:

(a) a therapeutically effective amount of a salt according; claim 1 and

(b) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent, vehicle or excipient.

49 . A method of treating a disease which responds to an inhibition of protein kinase activity comprising the step of administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a salt according to claim 1 .
