Abstract

A silicone tape having inherent elasticity and flexibility to allow for its significant stretching, which when unrolled from its tape roll, and its laminar film removed, can be stretched around the furniture or other componentry to hold it in position until any applied adhesive hardens, during furniture repair or manufacture.

Claims (7)

1 . A clamping tape for furniture and related repairs, including a length of silicone tape, the tape having a polymer layer to prevent self adherence when maintained in the roll form, but said polymer layer being removed, and the tape stretched during application when applied to furniture components during their adhesion into a repairing or manufacturing form.

2 . The process of applying a silicone clamping tape to furniture and related components during their repair, including unrolling the tape from its roll, removing its polymer laminar layer from the tape as the tape is being stretched and applied to components of furniture during their repair or construction.

3 . The clamping tape of claim 1 and including said tape having a guide line arranged centrally thereof, and extending substantially longitudinally along the length of the said tape, said guideline being useful to assure the alignment of the tape during its application onto the furniture parts being repaired.

4 . The clamping tape of claim 3 and wherein said guideline is formed as a longitudinal bead, generally centrally of the length of said tape, and said guideline having a different color from the coloration of the said tape.

5 . The clamping tape of claim 4 wherein said tape, as unwound from its roll form, has a triangular configuration in cross section, with the guideline being arranged along the peak of the formed triangle of said tape.

6 . The clamping tape of claim 5 wherein said tape is a silicone tape having inherent elasticity and flexibility to allow for its significant stretching when unrolled from its tape roll.

7 . The processing of applying said silicone clamping tape to furniture, wherein the furniture during repair or construction has its integral parts secured together by an adhesive, after application of the clamping tape to the furniture, and said tape is adhered in place until such time as the adhesive hardens during furniture repair or manufacture.
