A method for treatment and amelioration of breast, cervical, ovarian, endometrial, squamous cells, prostate cancer and melanoma in a patient comprising targeting Id-1 or Id-2 gene expression with a delivery vehicle comprising a product which modulates Id-1 or Id-2 expression.
1. A method for treatment and amelioration of a cancer in prostate tissue and melanoma in a patient comprising:
a) providing a delivery vehicle comprising a product which inhibits Id-1 expression by disrupting Id-1 gene interaction—with a transcription factor, wherein said product is an RNAi; and
b) delivering said delivery vehicle to said patient.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein said cancer is melanoma.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein said cancer is prostate cancer.
4. The method of claim 1 wherein the cancer is melanoma.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the delivery vehicle further comprises a vector containing the molecule, wherein the vector is selected from the group consisting of an adenoviral vector, adeno-associated viral vector, lenti viral or retroviral vector, cationic liposome vector, and a polycationic polymer or a polyplex vector.
6. The method of claim 1 wherein said delivering step is carried out intravenously, orally or by injection.
7. A method for treatment and amelioration of a breast cancer in a patient comprising the steps of:
a) providing a delivery vehicle comprising a molecule that disrupts Id-1 gene interaction with a transcription factor, wherein said molecule is an RNAi that reduces Id-1 gene expression levels resulting in reduction of Id-1 protein levels, wherein said reduction in Id-1 protein levels disrupts Id-1 gene interaction with a transcription factor, and
b) delivering said delivery vehicle to said patient.
8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the delivery vehicle further comprises a vector containing the molecule, wherein the vector is selected from the group consisting of an adenoviral vector, adeno-associated viral vector, lentis viral or retroviral vector vector, a cationic liposome vector, and a polycationic polymer or a polyplex vector.
9. The method of claim 7 wherein said delivering step is carried out intravenously, orally or by injection.
