Abstract

The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize TC1507 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

Claims (15)

1. A DNA detection kit comprising a primer pair, wherein said primer pair is capable of producing in a thermal amplification reaction an amplicon diagnostic for the presence of DNA corresponding to corn event TC 1507, wherein said primer pair consists of a first polynucleotide primer and a second polynucleotide primer, and wherein said first and second primers are selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected from the maize sequence set forth in nucleotides 1-1001 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

(b) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected from the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 1002-1551 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

(c) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected from the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 1552-1679 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

(d) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected form the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 1682-2073 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

(e) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected from the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 2074-2261 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

(f) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotides selected from the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 2264-2344 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement; and

(g) a primer consisting of at least 11 contiguous nucleotide selected from the maize DNA sequence set forth in nucleotides 2345-2598 of SEQ ID NO: 27 or its full complement;

wherein the amplicon produced in the thermal amplification reaction comprises at least 20 contiguous nucleotides spanning at least one of the junction regions unique to corn event TC1507 selected from the group consisting of:

(l) nucleotides 992-1011 of SEQ ID NO: 27;

(m) nucleotides 1542-1561 of SEQ ID NO: 27;

(n) nucleotides 1671-1690 of SEQ ID NO: 27;

(o) nucleotides 2064-2083 of SEQ ID NO: 27;

(p) nucleotides 2253-2272 of SEQ ID NO: 27; and

(q) nucleotides 2335-2344 of SEQ ID NO: 27.
