Abstract

A method of manufacturing a mount includes dispensing a predetermined amount of molten thermoplastic adhesive on a release liner, attaching a tab to the adhesive while the adhesive is at a temperature above its softening point, and cooling the adhesive to a temperature below its softening point.

Claims (19)

1. A method of manufacturing a mount, the method comprising:

dispensing a predetermined amount of molten thermoplastic adhesive on a release liner;

attaching a first end of a pull tab to a first surface of the adhesive and attaching a second end of the pull tab to a second surface of the adhesive while the adhesive is at a temperature above its softening point so that the pull tab extends away from the adhesive in a direction substantially parallel to the release liner, the pull tab including a hinge in a center portion in between the first end and the second end; and

cooling the adhesive to a temperature below its softening point.

2. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount is between about 0.15 cm 3 and about 3.0 cm 3 .

3. A method according to claim 1 , further comprising shaping the adhesive into a substantially disc shape before said cooling.

4. A method according to claim 3 , wherein the disc has a diameter of about 24 mm.

5. A method according to claim 3 , wherein the disc has a thickness of about 3 mm.

6. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the pull tab comprises a substantially rigid, non-stretchable material.

7. A method of manufacturing a mount, the method comprising:

dispensing a first predetermined amount of molten thermoplastic adhesive on a release liner;

attaching a pull tab to a portion of the first adhesive;

dispensing a second predetermined amount of molten thermoplastic adhesive on a second release liner; and

placing the second adhesive on the first adhesive and the pull tab.

8. A method according to claim 7 , wherein the first predetermined amount is between about 0.15 cm 3 and about 3.0 cm 3 .

9. A method according to claim 7 , further comprising shaping the first and second adhesives into substantially disc shapes.

10. A method according to claim 9 , wherein each disc has a diameter of about 20 mm.

11. A method according to claim 9 , wherein each disc has a thickness of about 3 mm.

12. A method according to claim 7 , wherein the first and the second release liners are the same release liner.
