Abstract

Isolated and/or purified polypeptides and nucleic acid sequences encoding polypeptides from Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius are provided. Further provided are methods for modulating or altering metabolism in a cell using isolated and/or purified polypeptides and nucleic acid sequences from Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius.

Claims (7)

1. An expression vector comprising an isolated polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:1395.

2. The expression vector of claim 1 , wherein the expression vector comprises a polynucleotide having at least 90% identity to SEQ ID NO:1396.

3. The expression vector of claim 1 , wherein the encoded polypeptide has L-lactate dehydrogenase enzymatic activity.

4. An expression vector comprising a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:1395.

5. The expression vector of claim 4 , wherein the encoded polypeptide has L-lactate dehydrogenase enzymatic activity.

6. A method of modulating or altering metabolism in a cell, the method comprising: providing the expression vector of claim 3 to the cell and expressing the encoded polypeptide in the cell.

7. The method according to claim 6 , further comprising glycosylating, or otherwise post-translationally modifying the encoded peptide in the cell.
