Abstract

A system and method for displaying a match alert. First and second user monitors are configured to communicate with an interrogator to establish the presence of the user monitors in a defined space. An information server is configured to determine whether profiles of the first and the second user profiles match according to matching criteria. If the first and the second user profiles match, matching alert signals comprising matching attributes are sent to first and second match indicators. The first match indicator is visible to the user of the second user monitor so as to be informative to the user of the second user monitor of the matching of the first and second user profiles according to the matching criteria, and the second match indicator is visible to the user of the first user monitor so as to be informative to the user of the first user monitor of the matching of the first and second user profiles according to the matching criteria.

Claims (106)

1. A matching system comprising:

a first monitor configured to transmit first identification information to a presence detector;

a second monitor configured to transmit second identification information to the presence detector;

the presence detector configured to receive the first identification information and the second identification information and to send the first identification information and the second identification information to a server;

the server storing a first profile associated with the first identification information and a second profile associated with the second identification information and the server is configured to receive the first identification information and the second identification information and compare the first profile and the second profile to determine whether the first profile and the second profile match according to matching criteria;

wherein, in response to matching the first and second profiles, the server is configured to generate and send a first matching attribute to the first monitor and a second matching attribute to the second monitor;

wherein the first matching attribute is unique to the second monitor and presented on the first monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible so as to be informative to a person other than a user of the first monitor of the match and the second matching attribute is unique to the first monitor and presented on the second monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible so as to be informative to a person other than a user of the second monitor of the match.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first matching attribute comprises a first quantitative measure so as to be informative of a degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria; and

wherein the second matching attribute comprises a second quantitative measure so as to be informative of the degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first monitor further comprises:

a sensor responsive to physiological data; and

a computing system configured to:

receive the physiological data from the sensor;

determine a measure of attraction from at least one element of the physiological data; and

create an attraction attribute indicative of the measure of attraction.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first monitor further comprises:

a sensor responsive to physiological data; and

a computing system configured to:

receive the physiological data from the sensor;

determine a measure of truthfulness from at least one element of the physiological data; and

create a truthfulness attribute indicative of the measure of truthfulness.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the server is further configured to:

receive profile information;

receive physiological data associated with the profile information;

determine a measure of truthfulness relating to the profile information from at least one element of the physiological data;

determine whether the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value;

store the profile information in response to determining that the measure of truthfulness is equal or greater than the minimum threshold value.

6. A method for presenting a match alert, the method comprising:

receiving at a server first identification information from a first monitor and second identification information from a second monitor, wherein the server stores a first profile associated with the first monitor and a second profile associated with the second monitor;

determining whether the first profile and the second profile match according to matching criteria;

generating and sending a first matching attribute to the first monitor and a second matching attribute to the second monitor, in response to determining that the first profile and the second profile match according to the matching criteria;

presenting the first matching attribute on the first monitor so as to be at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the first monitor, wherein the first matching attribute is unique to the second monitor so as to be informative of the match;

presenting the second matching attribute on the second monitor so as to be at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the second monitor, wherein the second matching attribute is unique to the first monitor so as to be informative of the match.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first matching attribute comprises a first quantitative measure so as to be informative of a degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria; and

wherein the second matching attribute comprises a second quantitative measure so as to be informative of the degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria.

8. The method of claim 6 further comprising:

receiving physiological data from a sensor;

determining a measure of attraction from at least one element of the physiological data; and

creating an attraction attribute indicative of the measure of attraction.

9. The method of claim 6 further comprising:

receiving physiological data from a sensor;

determining a measure of truthfulness from at least one element of the physiological data;

creating a truthfulness attribute indicative of the measure of truthfulness.

10. The method of claim 6 further comprising:

receiving profile information at the server;

receiving physiological data associated with the profile information;

determining a measure of truthfulness relating to the profile information from at least one element of the physiological data;

determining whether the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value;

storing the profile information in response to determining that the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than the minimum threshold value.

11. A match alert apparatus comprising:

a presence detector configured to receive identification information from a first monitor and a second monitor and send the identification information;

a server configured to receive the identification information, the server comprising:

a memory configured to store a first profile associated with the first monitor and a second profile associated with the second monitor;

a processor configured to:

determine whether the first profile and the second profile match according to matching criteria;

generate a first matching attribute for the first monitor and a second matching attribute for the second monitor;

wherein the first matching attribute is unique to the second monitor and presented on the first monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the first monitor so as to be informative of the match and the second matching attribute is unique to the first monitor and presented on the second monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the second monitor so as to be informative of the match.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the first matching attribute comprises a first quantitative measure so as to be informative of a degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria; and

wherein the second matching attribute comprises a second quantitative measure so as to be informative of the degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria.

13. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the server is further configured to:

receive profile information;

receive physiological data associated with the profile information from a monitor;

determine a measure of truthfulness relating to the profile information from at least one element of the physiological data;

determine whether the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value;

store the profile information in response to determining that the measure of truthfulness is equal or greater than the minimum threshold value.

14. A tangible computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions comprising:

instructions to receive first identification information from a first monitor and second identification information from a second monitor;

instructions to store a first profile associated with the first monitor and a second profile associated with the second monitor;

instructions to compare the first profile and the second profile to determine whether the first profile and the second profile match according to matching criteria;

instructions to generate and send a first matching attribute to the first monitor and a second matching attribute to the second monitor in response to matching the first and second profiles;

wherein the first matching attribute is unique to the second monitor and presentable being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the first monitor so as to be informative of the match and the second matching attribute is unique to the first monitor and presentable being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the second monitor so as to be informative of the match.

15. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 14 wherein the first matching attribute comprises a first quantitative measure so as to be informative of a degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria; and

wherein the second matching attribute comprises a second quantitative measure so as to be informative of the degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria.

16. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 14 , the instructions further comprising:

instructions to receive profile information;

instructions to receive physiological data associated with the profile information from a monitor;

instructions to determine a measure of truthfulness relating to the profile information from at least one element of the physiological data;

instructions to determine whether the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value;

instructions to store the profile information in response to determining that the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value.

17. A matching system comprising:

a first monitor configured to transmit first identification information to a presence detector and a first profile to a server;

a second monitor configured to transmit second identification information to the presence detector and a second profile to the server;

the presence detector configured to receive the first identification information and the second identification information and to send the first identification information and the second identification information to the server;

the server configured to receive the first profile and the first identification information and the second profile and the second identification information and compare the first profile and the second profile to determine whether the first profile and the second profile match according to matching criteria;

wherein, in response to matching the first and second profiles, the server is configured to generate and send a first matching attribute to the first monitor and a second matching attribute to the second monitor;

wherein the first matching attribute is unique to the second monitor and presented on the first monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the first monitor so as to be informative of the match and the second matching attribute is unique to the first monitor and presented on the second monitor being at least one of outwardly visible or audible to a person other than a user of the second monitor so as to be informative of the match.

18. The system of claim 17 , wherein the first matching attribute comprises a first quantitative measure so as to be informative of a degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria; and

wherein the second matching attribute comprises a second quantitative measure so as to be informative of the degree to which the first and second profiles match according to the matching criteria.

19. The system of claim 17 , wherein the first monitor further comprises:

a sensor responsive to physiological data; and

a computing system configured to:

receive the physiological data from the sensor;

determine a measure of attraction from at least one element of the physiological data; and

create an attraction attribute indicative of the measure of attraction.

20. The system of claim 17 , wherein the first monitor further comprises:

a sensor responsive to physiological data; and

a computing system configured to:

receive the physiological data from the sensor;

determine a measure of truthfulness from at least one element of the physiological data; and

create a truthfulness attribute indicative of the measure of truthfulness.

21. The system of claim 17 , wherein the server is further configured to:

receive profile information;

receive physiological data associated with the profile information;

determine a measure of truthfulness relating to the profile information from at least one element of the physiological data;

determine whether the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than a minimum threshold value;

store the profile information in response to determining that the measure of truthfulness is equal to or greater than the minimum threshold value.
