Abstract

A gas powered internal combustion engine in which the gas is provided from pressurized liquid gas in an LPG container and in which the LPG container is rigidly mounted adjacent to the internal combustion engine at a preselected angle to be in conductive heat transfer relationship to the internal combustion engine and in vibration receiving relationship to the internal combustion engine whereby the liquified gas in the LPG container is heated and the effective surface area thereof is increased.

Claims (49)

1. A gas powered internal combustion engine drive arrangement comprising, in combination:

an internal combustion engine for rotating an output shaft for said internal combustion engine in an operating condition thereof, and said internal combustion engine generating heat and vibration for the condition of said internal combustion engine in the operating condition thereof;

said output shaft of said internal combustion engine connected to drive a preselected powered device;

a mounting bracket rigidly connected to said internal combustion engine for receiving heat and vibration from said internal combustion engine, and said mounting bracket having walls defining a first predetermined geometric configuration;

a liquified gas storage bottle having liquified gas therein and gas phase of said liquified gas therein and said liquified gas storage bottle having a preselected external geometric shape;

an adapter having interior walls defining a cavity and said interior walls of said cavity configured to engage said preselected external geometric shape of said liquified gas storage bottle for the transmission of heat and vibration thereto, and said adapter having external walls connected to said interior walls for transmitting heat and vibration to said interior walls, and said external walls of said adapter having substantially said first predetermined geometric configuration of said mounting bracket;

said liquified gas storage bottle mounted in said cavity of said adapter against said interior walls thereof;

said adapter rigidly mounted on said mounting bracket for receiving said heat and vibration therefrom whereby said heat and vibration are transmitted to said liquified gas storage bottle for agitating and heating said liquified gas stored in said liquified gas storage bottle to increase the generation of gas phase therefrom.

2. The arrangement defined in claim 1 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is arcuate.

3. The arrangement defined in claim 1 wherein:

said interior walls of said adapter have substantially the same preselected external geometric shape as the preselected external shape of said liquified gas storage bottle.

4. The arrangement defined in claim 1 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is cylindrical.

5. The arrangement defined in claim 1 wherein:

said preselected external geometric shape is cylindrical.

6. The arrangement defined in claim 5 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is cylindrical.

7. The arrangement defined in claim 1 and further comprising:

an outlet conduit having a first end connected to said liquified gas storage bottle and a second end connected to said internal combustion engine for providing said gas phase of said liquified gas thereto,

whereby said internal combustion engine receives said gas phase for operation thereof.

8. The arrangement defined in claim 7 and further comprising:

a pressure regulator connected to said outlet conduit intermediate said gas storage bottle and said internal combustion engine for regulating the pressure of said gas phase flowing into said internal combustion engine.

9. The arrangement defined in claim 1 wherein:

said liquified gas storage bottle is mounted in said adapter at a preselected angle to the horizontal sufficient to increase the surface area of said liquified gas therein.

10. The arrangement defined in claim 9 wherein:

said preselected angle is in the range of 14° and 16°.

11. The arrangement defined in claim 10 wherein:

said preselected angle is approximately 15°.

12. A gas powered internal combustion engine drive arrangement comprising, in combination:

an internal combustion engine for rotating an output shaft for said internal combustion engine in an operating condition thereof, and said internal combustion engine generating heat and vibration for the condition of said internal combustion engine in the operating condition thereof;

said output shaft of said internal combustion engine connectable to a preselected powered device;

a mounting bracket rigidly connected to said internal combustion engine for receiving heat and vibration from said internal combustion engine, and said mounting bracket having walls defining a first predetermined geometric configuration;

an adapter having interior walls defining a liquified gas storage bottle receiving cavity, and said adapter having external walls connected to said interior walls for transmitting heat and vibration to said interior walls, and said external walls of said adapter having substantially said first predetermined geometric configuration of said mounting bracket;

said adapter rigidly mounted on said mounting bracket for receiving said heat and vibration therefrom whereby said heat and vibration are transmitted to said interior walls of said adapter.

13. The arrangement defined in claim 12 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is arcuate.

14. The arrangement defined in claim 13 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is cylindrical.

15. The arrangement defined in claim 12 wherein:

said interior walls of said adapter are cylindrical.

16. The arrangement defined in claim 15 wherein:

said first predetermined geometric configuration is cylindrical.

17. The arrangement defined in claim 12 wherein:

said interior walls of said adapter are at a predetermined angle to the horizontal.

18. The arrangement defined in claim 17 wherein:

said predetermined angle is in the range of 14° to 16°.

19. The arrangement defined in claim 18 wherein:

said predetermined angle is 15°.
