Abstract

A connector can include: a body and a clip. The body can have a hollow core formed by walls and capable of receiving a conduit, and a side tab extending from the wall. The clip can have a transverse portion with an engagement configured to engage the side tab; and a member extending from the transverse portion to the first end and having a protrusion with an engagement surface and an entry surface. The protrusion can be configured to deflect radially inward.

Claims (26)

1. A connector, comprising:

a body comprising

a hollow core formed by walls and capable of receiving a conduit, and

a side tab extending from the wall; and

a clip having a first end and a second end and comprising

a transverse portion with an engagement extending from a side thereof, wherein the engagement comprises a hole configured to engage the side tab; and

a member extending from the transverse portion to the first end and having a protrusion with an engagement surface and an entry surface, wherein the engagement surface is located between the entry surface and the transverse portion, wherein the protrusion is configured to deflect radially inward as the connector is inserted into an enclosure and, once inserted, to move radially outward.

2. The connector of claim 1 , wherein the engagement extends from the transverse portion at an angle θ of less than 145°.

3. The connector of claim 2 , wherein the angle θ is 75° to 115°.

4. The connector of claim 1 , wherein the clip further comprises a ledge extending from the entry surface of the protrusion away from the transverse portion, wherein the ledge is configured to deflect the protrusion inwardly with respect to the body as a pressure is applied to the ledge, wherein the protrusion is where the entry surface and the engagement surface meets.

5. The connector of claim 1 , wherein the clip further comprises an arm extending from the transverse portion and configured to engage the conduit disposed when located in the core.

6. The connector of claim 1 , wherein the body further comprises a protrusion extending into the core from the wall and configured to contact a valley of the conduit.

7. The connector of claim 1 , wherein the body further comprises a second side tab extending from the wall, and the clip further comprise a second engagement extending from a second side of the transverse portion of the clip, wherein the second engagement is configured to engage the second tab of the body.

8. The connector of claim 7 , wherein the engagement of the clip is opposite to the second engagement of the clip.

9. A connector, comprising:

a body comprising

a hollow core formed by walls and capable of receiving a conduit, and

a side tab extending from the wall; and

a clip having a first end and a second end and comprising

a transverse portion with an engagement extending from a side thereof, wherein the engagement is configured to engage the side tab; and

a member extending from the transverse portion to the first end and having a protrusion with an engagement surface and an entry surface, wherein the engagement surface is located between the entry surface and the transverse portion, wherein the protrusion is configured to deflect radially inward as the connector is inserted into an enclosure and, once inserted, to move radially outward; wherein the connector further comprises a second clip having a first end and a second end and comprising

a second transverse portion with a second engagement extending from a side thereof, wherein the second engagement is configured to engage a second side tab of the body; and

a second member extending from the second transverse portion to the first end and having a second protrusion with a second engagement surface and a second entry surface, wherein the second engagement surface is located between the second entry surface and the second transverse portion, wherein the second protrusion is configured to deflect radially inward as the connector is inserted into an enclosure and, once inserted, to move radially outward.

10. The connector of claim 9 , wherein the clip is attached to a first side of the body and the second clip is attached to an opposing second side of the body.

11. The connector of claim 9 , wherein the clip comprises a ledge extending from the entry surface of the protrusion away from the transverse portion of the clip, and the second clip comprises a ledge extending from the second entry surface of the second protrusion away from the second transverse portion of the second clip.

12. The connector of claim 9 , wherein the ledge and the second ledge are configured to bend the clip and the second clip toward one another when a pressure is applied to the ledge and the second ledge.
